Downtroden lies. I saw him fly that .61 FX for 21 minutes, not 16--and he didn't look to be conserving nitro. I have had Twists with a .45 SuperTigre and a Saito 82 (which eats fuel, 11 min MAX flights on 11 oz standard Hangar 9 tank for the Twist). When I saw what Downtrodden's .61 Twist could do--fuel efficiency AND acrobatics, I ordered a new OS .61 for a NEW Twist, my 5th.
I put the battery BEHIND the rear wall of the canopy, receiver just in front of that. I paint the interior of the canopies, black, so you can't see the hole in the rear knock-out in the ply--wherein I put the battery, secured with a rubber band and a balsa stopper on top, under the canopy. The CG came out at 4.5 inches. A Dremel knocked a bit of the standard Hangar 9 mount down to where the .61 fits perfectly. You have to take about 3/8ths inch of the top side braces off, too. I just built it and it's ready to fly, on skiis. Maidens tomorrow.
Downtrodden uses the 13 x 5 prop. I'll start with a 12 x 6, for break-in, then try the 13 x 6, which I have on hand. Downtrodden's Twist has infinte and powerful vertical. I'm anxious to see what this Twist will do. The Saito 82a on my #4 Twist burnt out its bearings, for the SECOND time, and is at Horizon Hobby Service. Point is, I won't put it on the Twist again if the .61 proves as good as Downtroden's. That OS .61 FX rocks on the Twist.

i have twist with OS 50, turning 12.25x3.75,... good response,... difficult to knife edge,... but over all it's a good airplane (but the recommended engine size in review and manual must be replace with bigger engine, it said 46 size engine but it will never do 3D on that engine) ...

Anyone know if an OS 61 FX will fit into a Hangar 9 Twist 3d?

As I said before, I mounted the battery below the canopy base under the rear ply knock-out, painted the canopy black, so the hole in the Ultrakote can't be seen, and secured it with a rubber band using the rear wing support--the ply with three small knock-out holes in it. The receiver is in front of that, BELOW, the wing seat. The CG came in at 4.25 inches.
I maidened the bird yesterday. Superfine--can't wait to get in the air again.
Good luck.
