Default Flapperons?

I've got my right aileron plugged into channel 1 and my left aileron plugged into channel 6 so that I can use flapperons with my Hitec Eclipse transmitter. How can I use this feature to help with harriers and elevators (I'm new to 3d).

Also, I have a VR1 dial that allows me to use + or - flaps for certain situations. I've heard they can help on short landing strips. Would you want to use + or - flaps during landings, and how does that affect the approach speed and angle?

Thanks,
Clay

Default RE: Flapperons?

If Im thinking correctly

+flaps are spoilerons I THINK spoilerons .. i.e. Elevator goes up the ailerons go up with it.
I find that spoilerons help to stop wing rock on elevators and stabilize my planes in rolling harrier maneuvers so the elevator does its job but the nose doesnt bounce up and down as much. If full up throw for 3D is 70 dergrees elevator, I would say put in about 15 degrees of spoileron when your elevator is full up to start and play with it from there.. Just be careful with spoilerons because they reduce the lift of the wing. If you have spoilerons on for landing the plane will sink really fast and maybe even stall a little more easily. Plane wont fly normally worth a flip with spoilerons on so be sure you know how to turn them on and off...

-flaps are flaperons I THINK,,, flaperons .. i.e. elevator goes up ailerons go down and vice versa. . For waterfalls and really tight loops flaperons are the ticket for me. Flaperons will help keep a plane from stalling at lower approach speeds.

I use spoilerons all the time for elevators and rolling maneuvers but honestly I dont use my flaperons much. The planes I fly do waterfalls ok without them..
