I don't yet have "hands on" with this aircraft, as I'm just finishing a Midwest Extra, and knowing the 2 planes are very comparable performance wise when it comes to power, I went with a BME50, as that was the leader at the time(6months to a year ago). There are several to choose that I would bet have more power then the 2.4 though. The Brisson 3.2 is a really popular engine for that plane, and the ZDZ line is coming alive as well.
My suggestion would be to weigh your complete plane, less engine, and post that here. That would give those with some real hands on experience of that plane and engine a good indication of what might do your plane well, knowing the actual weight of your airframe, and several of the guys have exact weights on engine combos. This would also give you a good indication of your flying weight.
I would think the 2.4 would actually limit the potential of your plane though, unless you have extreme light airframe, this is what the weight of your airframe would help determine. I do hope this helps.

Here's my Extra which is essentially the same plane (both of these planes used the same wing however the CAP is shorter coupled with the placement of the stab forward of the vertical fin) with a Quadra 52. Didn't get many flights on it before selling it. At the time I wasn't interested in 3D so I can't say if the engine would hover it. I suspect it would. Very nice flying true plane. Very clean on the uplines. These planes were designed by Mike McConnville when he was with Midwest. I would look into the ZDZ line of engines with this size of plane today. Lighter weight than the Q-52 and more power in only the 40cc than a G-62 Zenoah. I would expect the Brison to give unlimited performance. The plane is capable of anything the pilot is. Vertical performance is a direct relationship with thrust to weight. In other words the lighter the plane and the higher the thrust the better the vertical performance.

My Cap started it's life with a Moki 1.8 which flew it well, but about a year ago I put a Brison 3.2 on the nose and it's great. My Cap weighs in at about 15 lbs. and has unlimited vertical, and the 3.2 has more than enough power to hover this plane. I am very happy with my engine choice, anything smaller wouldn't be enough, and anything bigger would give you to heavy a wing loading.

I'm sure the Moki 2.1 would fly it very well. The Moki 1.8 did a good job for IMAC type flying but the plane would lose a lot of speed in a snap type maneuver, and the 1.8 would hold the plane in a hover but really didn't have enough power to climb out one. I have never run the 2.1 but I'm sure it would work well, if you can afford the glow fuel.
