I have a OS .91 FX in mine and it performs great. I have no experience with the engine you're contemplating, but the FX takes it vertical until I can no longer see it. Hovers at about 1/2 to 2/3 throttle. Two issues I did have: 1) Knocking (pre-ignition) - I added an extra head gasket which reduced this, but I still hear it usually in a nose down attitude. 2) Early to mid run flame outs for about 4-5 flights, but I attribute that to my inexperience tuning the engine. I think I went a little too lean too soon. Now it runs like a top. The great thing about the plane though, was that even dead stick with close to a full tank of gas the plane still landed real easy. Good luck with whatever you choose. I think you will like the plane.

Tower hobbies does not handle Saito, but try Horizon Hobby at www.horizonhobby.com. They don't have the discount but they are good to work with. Try your local hobby shop. Mine offers a discount on purchases over $250. They can get the Saito engine for you. I have 2 Saito 100's and get good performance with them. OS also makes a good engine and they're sold through Tower Hobbies. You won't go wrong with an OS. The Saito puts out a little more Horsepower than the OS .91 and also weighs a little less.

SAITO 100 ISN'T ENOUGH! PLUS THE SAITO HAS FLAT SPOT THREW THE THROTTLE TRANSITION WITHOUT A PUMP! I HAD A CLINE ON MINE TO FIX THE PROBLEM! ANYWAYS I WAS RUNNING A 16*4W APC ON THE FA100 W/15% WILDCAT, IT TOOK ALIITLE TIME TO SPOOL UP!, BUT IF YOU A YS110 YOU CAN GO UP TO A 17INCH PROP WHICH I HEARD MAKES THE PLANE HANDLE MUCH BETTER! I GUESS IT HAS SOMTHING TO DO WITH THE PROPWASH, PLUS THE YS HAS A BUILT IN PUMP SO YOU CAN LOCATE THE FUEL TANK NEAR THE CG
HOPE THIS HELPS!

You heard thet YS's are not any good? That is BAD INFORMATION ---
YS is the finest 4 cycle engine on the planet, very few argue that fact... And the ones that do apparently cannot tune an engine properly--

Also I heard I need a Futaba S9151 digital servo for the rudder. That servo cost I think $90.00. Is there a servo similar to this that I could use thats cheaper?

Mine flys great on a Webra 1.20 mounted sideways with a Perry pump and the tank over the CG. In fact , another flyer at our field liked how I mounted my engine sideways and did the same with his Saito 100 and now it doesn't have fuel running out the carb after fueling it up cause the carb is even with the tank outlet ( his tank is in the original location). I have Hitec 645MG's on ailerons and elevators and a 945 on rudder and a HS85MG mini servo on throttle. Have fun !

I have a saito 100 on mine , mounted upside down, the trick is to lower the tank to the bottom of the forward compartment. It runs flawless. Run 30% and 16X4 APC it will jump out of hover with respect!

Kind of depends what altitude your flying at too. I started with a Saito 1.00, it made it a fun sport plane, but it would not hold a hoover. I took that out and put in a used YS1.20AC, and whew, what a difference. I'm getting closer to the ground each time I fly. I'm from central Montana. 3,500 ft.
There's a big difference in flying here than a zero sea level. Just a thought....
