Anyone have any news about the VMAR Edge 540 due out this fall. Maybe someone has seen/flown a prototype or know anything about the covering material?(looks pretty) . Im wondering how hard it would be to fix.Thanks. Randy

Do a search on VMAR, read the first few comments about their planes. No need to read much further than that since the rest are repeats of the same comments!

Very good looking but the ailerons stop short of the engine thrust zone and the elevator looks to small for 3d. Looks like a nice general flier. Vmar usually has a fair to sub par reputation for kits on this board but it isnt fair to rate other kits based on other old kits. GSP usually gets knocked around terribly but I really like my corsair I bought from them. So pays your money and takes your chances and let us know.

I have looked over the first two pre-release models in Oz. The covering is the new ECS type with the printed graphics in between two layers of shrink film. They are a very dark green, (almost black) as the primary colour. Build quality is certainly "up" from there earlier stuff. The weight of these models seemed a little more realistic ie: Not like lead... however i didn't have the opportunity to weigh them. Me thinks 60 plus 2 stroke for these planes (90 4 stroke). I've ordered one, will have it when they're released 6 weeks.

The plane sure looked good on the Richmond RC website. They were taking pre-orders back in early October and offering $20 off.
So I jumped on it. Expecting shipment at the end of October.

Here it is mid November and I've got no plane, no responce from Richmond RC, and no patience.

Now from what I've been reading here in the RC Universe, about the lack of quality VMAR offers, I don't think I will persue it further.

Sure glad they don't have my $$$.

I've got a couple in stock now. Put one together and...hey it's no Wm type of qual' however... As far as looks, assembly ease, scale detail and $$$ go, not bad. That all said and done, i would change out all of the hardware to something along the lines of Sullivan or Du-bro. This would give real peace of mind. In fact i suggest it to all who listen.
