I Agree,

The small plane is a BLAST... It is light with a huge wing..
VERY large control surfaces

An OS 46ax is all you need for UNLIMITED vertical...
Comes with a tail skid so you have to provide steering
on the ground if you want it...

I have one of these, it is a good plane, with a OS 50 SX on it, it is ballistic! Vertical hand launches are possible!!!

I haven't really tried any 3Ding on it. I'm not very good at 3Ding. Just wondering, can this plane do flatspins!?

The Saito56 would work VERY well--- This airplane does great flat-spins!

I have flown many:
OS-50FSR Heli engine 12.25x 3.75
TT-42, 11x5
K&B-48, 12.25x 3.75
OS-46FX, 12x4 and 12.25x 3.75
Saito-50 (dunno which prop.)

The Saito 50 could hover but barely, and the TT-42 was anemic but the others were impressive!

It is a fun plane but I have to go against the grain here. The one I flew belonged to a friend. It was more of a "fun-fly" type plane than a 3-D monster.

I always wonder how the people in the videos hover so well... I can barely hover! [:@]. My hover stays for one or too seconds before it starts getting weird. Do you guys use ailerons when hovering?!

How do I do a flat spin?!

Sorry, I just wanna get the most out of this plane !!!!

for a flat spin
low power 1/4 or less
pull in full rudder and elevator
once spin starts slowly apply power anything up to full
and slowly apply opposite aileron
help to have a rear c of g

Just how far is your CG? Mine is around the recommended 115mm, but I suspect you can go backwards a lot more since the Magic has the same large wing as the Magic Extra, which people always suggest a further tail-heavy CG than what is recommended.

But is it worth the lead?!

on all our planes we run a c of g at
25% to 30% trainer
33% to 35% sport and 3d
at 35 % will flat stall when power is not on [dead stick]

ailerons control your spin speed or keep u from tring. Also they help with placement of the aircraft!

ALL RIGHT! I finally did a flatspin today! It looks great to perform... attracts a lot of attention ... Gotta practice!

Now... why can't I hover properly!?! [:'(]

The reason I got the magic when it came out was to learn to hover with. I mean hover low. This plane to me is a great plane to learn to hover with. We bought two magics when they first came out because I though I would destroy one from trying to hover. After a year and a half of flying it I built the other magic and turn my older magic into a night airplane. It now has lights in the wings. I do the same thing at night as I do during the day. But now I have a found another airplane and that is a burrito. Great flying airplane. I like it because it does outside loops really tight and knifeedges very well.

Because it takes practice....there is no magic red button to push to activate hover

There is something goofy about the way it flies. But it can do some awesome stuff. I highly recommend it for learning to hover. Here's my little video:

Practice indeed.

Did you do lateral balance for this plane? Exactly how far from the leading edge is your CG?!

Some Real Cool Videos on here!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Magic and am interested in what you are using for center of gravity. I have a fox 40 that has good vertical and will hover for a few seconds before falling out. Me not engine. what about right thrust? Is there any built into plane ?

Thanks in advance. I will get it out and fly it this weekend.
