Does anyone make an Ultimate Bipe ARF that would be a good match for the ZDZ 80? It seems they only come in 50cc or 100cc varieties.
Has anyone tried the ZDZ 80 on one recommended for 100cc's. If so, how does it perform?
I have a ZDZ 80 that was used in my H-9 Sukhoi looking for a home and would really love an Ultimate.
Any input or recommendations appreciated.
Thanks, Tobe

carl goldberg makes a 30% ultimate arf thats meant for a 75cc but i would definitly go with the aero-works 33% ultimate and the zdz my friend has an a.w. edge with zdz 80 and verticals pretty good think how much h-9 sukhoi weighs the a.w. shouldnt be any much more but really try to keep it light, lithiums, use 1 servo on all the surfaces even rudder and CF goodies and it can really come out really light you can easily loose 3 or more pounds compared with people that use da twins and 3w twins theres a website troybuiltmodels.com that tells u to go with the 80 less weight almost same power less money and you can get all of the CF stuff there too ive flown and seen a bunch 100cc planes with zdz80's on them they even fly better then the ones with 100cc twins on them you hav probably already gone through this with the h-9 sukhoi but it will be a task to get it to balance rite but you can usually just lengthen the engine box no biggy i think the reason why everyone is using a twin like a DA or 3W is because they dont rattle your plane as much and there much more quiter than the 80 but with the proper exhaust on the zdz you can get it pretty quite also i think is because the 3w and DA are know as the so called caddilac of engines, but newayz thats juz my 2cents,dean

I second the Aeroworks bipe for the 80. I was told that the plane came in around 25 lbs with a DA in it by Aeroworks. With and 80 you should be at 24lbs. I am buying the plane myself for this reason. But i am buying it from world models who is now selling the plane for less money. I paid $670 shipped. Cant beat that price for a 33% Ultimate.

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like I will be going with the AW/WM 33% Ultimate.
I've done a search but didn't find much info. I would have thought this, (33% ULTIMATE & ZDZ 80), to be a VERY popular combo...
Anymore opinions or info?

World Models makes one, a little larger, they say for 100 cc, but costs the same as the Goldberg at $650. I don't see why a ZDZ 80 won't work in this one, except for CG issue.

Nathan, Great looking Ulty!
Sean, Yes that is the plane Smokey was referring to. It is the same plane made by World Models that's sold through Aeroworks or
AB Models the US distributor for World Models.
Thanks, Tobe

I am also looking at the World Model Ultimate but also looking at the Fuji twinn or the FPE 96cc. I know the reliabity of the FPE, but anyone know how these Fuji engines are. especially the twinn. thanks

Th CG bipe will fly even if the ZDZ80 is propped wrongly and runs badly.
Bipes are really bad at drag -so if you decide on more wing area model -work to keep allup weight under 22 lbs - seriously.
Likely, you won't be using a good exhaust system if you are an ARF fan -
Get the Supersonic in cowl -OR make a good system . Best jet -use a very short header - tilt the engine a bit and add a JMB 70/80 can.
Prop it to easily -slightly rich -run 6500on the ground.
a Mejzlic 26x10 is good prop -or a 24x10 Bambula or MenzS
You need all the thrust you can get to have a decent 3D bipe.
Our own, old Bucker at 17+lbs 1790 squares is an absolute rocket on the ZDZ80 - That is an ideal setup -No ARFS approach that but it's the size/ weight to shoot for.
