cooling a big twin

i need some ideas on cooling for my edge, i have a temp gun and after i land i check the head temp. the port cylinder is around 210 deg, and the starboard is high 190's.
A/I say's he has them down around 170 and has had them as low as 140. iv'e tried to cool it even more by running the mixture a little on the rich side and still see no difference in the temp.
what should they be running, or what is an ok range.
i would like to share some pics of the baffle's i use and some feed back would be great. RR

You are not too bad at 210 and 190 if you have just shut it down (more on this later) 210 is on the high side, but still OK. I would tighten up the duct work on it. Go to Cactus Aviation's site and there is a really good artical on cooling. Also, how big is the exit opening. Show us a pic of that - it may be too small.
Are you temping it after shut off or at idle. You should temp it at idle. This way, you get a consistent reading. Try it sometime - temp it at idel and then shut it off and watch the dramatic change over the next few minutes.

Don't forget that ducting the intake air is only half of the job. What have you done to get the air out of the cowl? Too many times, these large cowls have very poor air flow behind the cylinders and you end up with a large area of stagnant air which does nothing but hold the heat to the backside of the engine.

The baffles should intersect the jugs at about halfway up..the way you have yours is the way I would have done it, too, but the pics on the Cactus website show only about half the jug. That and of course plenty of exit.

RR, make your lower baffle reach the middle of the cylinder, and use the side of the cowl to support the vertical baffles for the "baffle box" ends. Don't need to make anytihgn fancy, just as long as the air is directed over the upper half of the cyl's, and directly down the back sides of them. Also, rule of thumb is to have 3x air outlet than air inlet.
