I love the 60 size but I think they sized this one wrong, at 12+ lbs it's too heavy for the OS 1.60. IMO they should have made it a little smaller and already set up for the OS 1.60 (they'd sell more engines that way) and priced it at $299. If your specs are right buying 8 servos will turn off a lot of people too.
Nice idea but I'll have to pass on this one.

I agree that 12+ Lbs. w/a OS 1.60 on a stock pipe will not cut it. What's up with that color scheme! Are they going after the metrosexual market?

The more I look at this the better I like it. I don't mind the Pink at all. If someone is worried about flying pink, they are probably worried about their manhood. Pink is a good visual and shows up well in flight. Also, I wonder what the under wing colors are? This is just a little big for me. I'm sticking with glow and I'm not sure what engine I would use? Maybe Saito 180, YS160? I'm gonna wait and see, but the smaller UCD are my most fun planes. I'll bet this one would be fun also. Thanks,
Barry
PS: Oh yeah, I won't be buying the foamy either. So I would only have 3.

I'm passing on the giant U-Can-Do but I don't know why people knock the 60 size UCD. The UCD 60 is a VERY capable 3D performer. Harriers upright and inverted, hover, torque roll, very tight waterfalls and KE spins, blenders to perfectly flat spins, walls, parachutes etc. I have many profiles, Funtana 40 and 90, a QuiQue yak etc and the UCD 60 flys 3D as good or better than them all. My only complaint is some KE coupling that can be mixed out. Hopefully the giant UCD will 3D as good as its little brother.
My theory is the people who knock the UCD probably can't fly 3D anyway

George, yu da man!! I'm a diehard UCD fan and I think this big one should prove interesting. And for you nay sayers out there, you don't know what your missing with the flexible flyer, its a blast. Wish my .60 would bounce and cart wheel like this. Just pick it back up and fly away. Joe

Oooohh, this is becoming very tempting. I'm torn, as I wanted to get into a 'normal' plane. I'd wait to see what J Dubya does, but he is probably busy placing an order right now. Joe

A lot of potential. I could see lightening it up and using a G26. My USL is amazing at an RCH over 9 pounds.
I don't like the split flaps / ailerons. That would have to go.. I can't see using 2 servos in that wing.
I will bet you I could ditch 2 pounds from the projected weight.. 10 pounds maybe on a 19 pound thrust engine... hmmm it has me thinking.

82 inch wingspan? Sounds interesting. Flaps...mmm...just like my Ultrastick. I'm sure the OS 1.60 FX with APC 18x6w will be perfect. This is the same combo I have in my 13 1/2 pound Gene Soucy Extra, and I get all the vertical power I need. By the way, I just downloaded the (Giant UCD) manual...and I don't mind wearing pink.

A plane with that wingspan shouldn't have that thick of an airfoil. It might fly slow but I doubt it's going to be very maneuverable. the 60 size UCD is fun to hover but after that, a scale design is much more capable and not any more difficult to fly.

this might fot the bill
