Default FLAME TOC 50CC YAK

I can not wait for this plane any longer. I am gonna buy it!!!. It looks great and from the vids it fly's awsome too. I was going to get the ugly red color and fly like that but now this!!!!!!!

The EF87YAK is cool but I will never be able to get one of those and it costs lots too.

This scheme is better anyways.

What engine do you guys think. I was thinking the DA 50 and a canister. Seems good too me. Any better ideas that dont cost a fortune. The MVVS 58 seems like a perfect match for this 30% plane but at $700....... Does the evolution 58 put out the same amount of power and does it weigh the same, I am just wondering if it is the same engine for $100 less.

The EF yak is $10 more than this one, plus this one is out of stock as well.

From the looks of it the mvvs and evolution are the same motor.

They are both great aircraft that are made at the same factory in China. It is good to have so many great choices.

Thats not correct, as the original or TOC yaks were built in one factory and the EF yaks are built in another.

I have one of the flame 50cc yaks on order too. I am as excited as you are, I think this will be a great flying plane. They are due in on June 20th, and it is good go have a company selling planes that actually have some idea of when to expect them. I have a BME 50 waiting on mine and I am going to cut some Red Bull decals and try to make it look nice. If you need any decals cut for yours gimme a shout. Good luck!

Correct, but they are both Chris Hinson's design.

Let's straighten this out --
ALL good designs get copied - get over it --
There are a number of versions of this 87" YAK-- all same size but not same construction
NOT same hardware -or canopy design etc..
This model is , based on those I have seen - a good value.
I do have the EF model from Chris
It has construction features such as wing cap strips dove tailed into le/te wood.
Ribs - with vertical pieces inset.
Full formed canopy and foredeck -one piece attached to framework

I have not seen this detail on any of the other 87" YAKS
But his is more money -and if this type detail does nothing for you - get one of the others --
This type of copying has gone on since the world began -
It ha been said
"Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery ".
Oh yeh -if you want to see extra performance - stuff a ZDZ50 on a AMT pipe in it -yee haaw.

I really want to get the mvvs or evolution 58 engines for this plane. The plane is large 30% and I think this would be perfect. Am I wrong?

can the engine really put out 40 pounds of thrust because that sounds insane to me!!!!!! I like it though!!!!

In all due to respect for Chris and EF, for which I hold a lot of, the TOC 50 Yak is not a copy of the EF Yak. The construction is much different.

How do we know Chris designed this plane? I would really like to know since we got one. So are we saying that he designed the EF Yak, the Morris (KMP) Yak and now the TOC Yak??

A Yak-54 is a Yak-54, it's a scale plane. I mean how many versions of the Extra or P-51 are there out there?

Now your catching on there dion.. Chris's original design had no foam and was built by the TOC company and he rejected them. They had different construction techniques but were still the same airplane. And I cant believe that some people here think it's actually OK to steal designs, why not steal video, copyrighted software etc etc, it's all the same in china but I would hope people in the USA would think differently. I know chris is all over this fiasco but in my book from what I know and have been told "a borrowed chinese design" will never be in my hanger

Didn't mean to get into this discussion again, just stating true and accurate facts. I have no opinion of TOC anymore, and am happy for anyone who buys one and enjoys one, But I know the losses Chris suffered by this fiasco, and I will remain loyal to him...that's why I'm on the list for his 100cc Yak.
As for "a Yak 54 is a Yak 54" as someone mentioned - sorry, but you are wrong. Just take a look at QQ's versus this or the EF Yak. They are nowhere near the same looking plane, yet they are both called Yak 54's.

Well I'm glad I know a little more about this now and it does shine some light. Luckily nobody's copied any OMP planes, yet, but I have learned a valuable lesson about factory hopping in China. I've done a ton of homework on the factories and hopefully the factory that is now producing the new .40 OMP ARFS, will remain with us for a long time ... here's hoping.

As for "a Yak 54 is a Yak 54" as someone mentioned - sorry, but you are wrong.
How could I be wrong about this and I never mentioned the QQ Yak. I know QQ Yak is not scale and so does everyone else. Heck QQ advertises it as a semi-scale Yak.

But is the EF scale other then exaterated control surfaces? I'm just wondering I don't own one.

I don't understand why everytime someone post something about a Yak everybody start talking about the same old story EF etc, etc , etc.
I agree the EF is a great airplane but Banche here is not asking for that I bet he already know it , he's looking for an advice on the TOC Yak that he has coming and what engine he'll be using.

For those that want to wait a long time for the EF perfect no problem but there are people that want to fly and they want a plane now and that's why they're buying other brands.

Banche : You can't go wrong with a ZDZ 50 on pipe or a 3W 50 or the MVVS but that one is more expensive , even a ZDZ 60 is a good choice and the wing area of the plane will handle the extra weight without a problem.
And when TOC says June 20 you bet is June 20 I'm talking from experience.

epc.
