Default U Can Do = Modern Contendor

Any one notice that the GP U-Can-Do looks a lot like the old Top Flight Contender? Do they fly similar?

I've owned the TF Contender...the wings do look very similar indeed but the config of the ailerons, elevators, rudders and surface areas along w/shapes are quite different. Also the fuse has much longer profile and moments are longer on UCD plus other differences but in ways they do look like they could be in the same family...I've flown both my own contendor and another fellas UCD (mine will be done this week) and can tell you they don't fly alike...the performance envelope on the ucando is significantly larger & more versatile.

Default Designer of the UCD was a salt water angler

I think the UCD is a cross between a fun-fly (wing), a Cap 232 (Elevator/Rudder arrangement), and a Dorado, the dolphin fish (fuselage). When I took mine out of the box, all i could think of was hooking it on an offshore fishing trip back in fl LOLOL. That long tall, narrow fuse looks just like a 30 lb dolphin. hehe If I could airbrush, id love to recover mine all chrome monokote, and paint it up to look like a dolphin, having the chartruse, blue , greens and yellows become irredescent, like fish scales. The fish is aptly called a slammer, because of the way they slam the bait, and more importantly, the way they thrash around in the cooler once caught. Would make a great vinyl sticker in place of the UCD stickers for a name. Or even the Hawaiian name, Mahi-Mahi. lol. See attached image for similarities.

As a fisherman, I sure like the dolphin idea MUCH better than the covering scheme GP came up with. I have a Saito 100 looking for a home and I would buy the U-C-D in a heartbeat if it wasn't so goddern ugly .

I hate the color scheme.
