TOC 30% FLAME YAK-build
Well I just called in and ordered this sucker!!!!!! They told me that the shipment was coming in sooner than expected so I am guessing I will get it maybe June 23 or somthing like that.
My parents are in the midst of getting a digital camera so I will be taking pictures of the build. I have never done gas before, I know that I can fly it easy but am not sure about things like ignition and engine mounting.... And I do want to put smoke on it also, ooohhhh yes that will be cool.
guess these are pics of the 35% yak but I am guessing that the 30% one will resemble it closely, how can you go wrong with that color scheme?

Good looking plane---I got a peek at one in my local hobby shop (They are a TOC dealer. They have both the small and large Yaks in stock)---Very nice plane and LIGHT!! You will be surprised by the crate these things come shipped in...You could bury a family in one of those things. I think you'lll like your plane when you see it.

RE: TOC 30% FLAME YAK-build
Hmmm... I think on their website it said like $640.00 or somthing very close to that. A little under what the EF YAK was.
The guy that I ordered it from was not very into reality at that moment in his life and he never asked for my shipping address or anything of that nature, I just had to tell it to him. He only said that they were coming in a few days early.
For a plane with a great build and great flying cheracteristics I think it is well worth the money. It has the color scheme over the EF YAK but the EF has carbon fiber stuff. They both seem pretty equal to me.
Someone els get this plane too so we can help eachother out in the build.
I know they got alot about these TOC YAKS on fllying cirkus but there is more people in this 3d flying forum then there is on their whole site it seems like sometimes. no one ever takes the time to post anything there.

RE: TOC 30% FLAME YAK-build
Yah I am having those same problems too, I am only 15. My parents, and all the money from my grandparents go towards the plane.
I have about 50 bucks with me right know so it will be a task getting together all of the money. I do babysit alot though over the summer and have several mowing jobs so it will be fairly easy for me to get the money together for that mvvs58 in a little under a month I am speculating. For servos I am thinking Hitec 5645's all around except for rudder, maybe a 8411. would a 5645 be enough?

RE: TOC 30% FLAME YAK-build
who read the july issue of model airplane news and heard about that guy from the maggazine that used 635's all around and even on the rudder of the BME PITTS SPECIAL! That is insane, he will crash it seems to me and he thought nothing of *****g out the 635 with like 80,oz of tourq in a standard servo on the rudder of a 60cc plane.

The 5645's will be more than enough. Not as precise as a coreless but if you are like me you probably wont tell the diff. and with the deals you can get from donald's it's hard to beat.

donalds? I would like too hear about them, are they better than servo city? I Might go 5645's all around and put a 5945 on the rudder. That seems good enough to me!

What Blue said.
I like servo city. that is where i get some stuff from. very fast shipping but they do not always have discounts on multiple sales.

Well, these flame yaks are in... I just got off the phone with them a little while ago. Mine is on the way! I have a BME 50 and Hitec 5945s ready and waiting. They said that they were a little surprised that they actually came in early. That is really a switch. So if anyone is wanting one, just give them a shout.

RE: TOC 30% FLAME YAK-build
sweet, I think this is going to be a plane like the EF YAK. They look awsome and from the vids fly awsome. I really want to put that MVVS 58 in it but have questions.
Does it mount differently than say a DA 50 and can the plane handle an engine that big. It seems to me that it could!

RE: TOC 30% FLAME YAK-build
would you have to build in more thrust for an engine that is more powerful because it it would hinder the plane that way I will just get the DA but I am kinda worried that it will not have lots of virtical with the DA.

RE: TOC 30% FLAME YAK-build
I want to get at least some carbon fiber gear if not a wing tube as well. Any one know where I can get CF landing gear for this plane.
I fly off rough grass and have had issues with my funtana 90's stock tail set up and now my new tail setup has totaly broke again so I am looking at another tail weel bracket for it.
Could I use one of those say 20lbs tail weel's from chief aircraft. Are they rated for how much the plane weighs or how much pressure is on the tail.

Well, that room is getting empty! The only things left in there are my 34%CA, WH 260, the ARC 34% CA and my profile. I am working on filling it back up though! I need to sell that ARC 34% and the BME 102 to free up some cash. I plan on flying the time out of this yak though once it is up and running.

Ha, The CA is sold. I had fun with it for a while, but this silly yak caught my eye and the CA became a casualty of my obsession for something new. I had to sell it to raise the money for this one. TOC said my yak would be here middle of next week. I plan on jumping on it quick and try to get it going for next weekend. If you want to come and eyeball it come on down.
