QUOTE]The freestyles were a mix of Wednesday-conservative with a few glimses of what some are planning for later when it begins to really count. Bill Hempel released a "USA" banner at the end of his flight and Christophe repeated the same free he won with in 2000, complete with wing-tip streamers. The only real trouble of the round was with Kirk Gray's free... while completing a rolling harrier at the west end of the field, he flew behind the crowd line. While the plane was still well west of the pits and spectators, flying behind the dead-line is a safety violation so the flight was stopped and Kirk earned a zero for the round.[/QUOTE]

The desert aircraft site said it was Kirk Gray. Although i remember the last TOC when Billy got careless on takeoff and nosed the Edge over. 4-5 guys ran out with drills to get a new prop on as they time the start. With help, he got up and got the Free done. Maybe it was 3 years ago.
Chip is rock solid on the manuevers. Look historically and the free is usually what gets him.
Leaving in the morning so hope the weather holds. Don't think they will run out of quarters though.

My son and I have a small kid-sized bet...
He's for Chip, and I'm for Qui qui.
We'll both be at TOC tonight, watching tomorrow, Sat., and Sun. His bro and mom will also be there with us...hehe
Can't wait!

hey Boys,
I stumbled on more TOC coverage at ScaleAerobatics.com
the scores seem to post at the same time as DA site, but there are more pilot pics as well as a pic link!

I am really suprised at how well Chip is flying, he is doing fantastic. It looks like Christophe may start to be de-throned from winning all of his international competitions, or at least come close to it.

Its gotta be the best TOC yet...any one of the top 5 could win it AND we've got more variation in models i.e. Chips Ultimate (ok he always flys an ultimate but this ones a little different e.g. DA200!!!) and qui qui's yak.
Can't wait till the videos are done!!
