Default Funtana 90 question...

Hi guy,

Sorry, can probably find this out by searching through the threads but i'm being lazy...i'm putting a Funtana 90 together with a 120 4-stroke for power, was wondering if i should change the side or down thrust? I'm planning on using an APC 16 x 4w, guess this is my best option?

Thanks.

wozmondio

I just purchased a Funtana .90 and also [pwering it with a 120 (OS). I'm not sure about off sets etc.so I guess I'm going to leave it per the way it came. As for the prop I looked up the APC web page and found they had a 16.5/ 5 so I ordered two. I don't know how they will eventually work but I'm just offering you the info. I should have mine done next week so I'll soon find out how they work.

not to be mean but i have the plane and the o.s. 120 is not a good choice it dose not have the powerwe used all the props ma16.8 apc 16.4w ma16.6 and just would not give the plane any justice so i went to the YS 120 and useing apc17.6 @11500 and now the plane will do anything. ps the o.s. used was pumped 120 putting the YS on the plane was like putting da 50cc no it the power is there not the weight my plane is 9lbs

when i had The OS 120 on mine i tried a bunch of props. for some reason the 15x8 worked best in hover and all the way around had more pull. Throttle managment is a must.. I was still not happy and went YS-140.. but it would hover with the 120 just not much left on pullout..

as for right and down thrust. that will have to be determined after flying the plane ( since all fly different) just pull vertical at full throttle and if it pulls left you need some right thrust. another way to tell is loop tracking. if it pulls left in a long wide loop on the upside..

as for down thrust.. if plane flies fine at low to idle and then going full throttle you have to trim down or add down it will need some down thrust. the opposite for up.... there are other ways to test this i have seen in threads. none ive seen were wrong they were just different methods

have fun

This must be a typo or you had a bad prop or bad rpm reading.
