I've only seen Chip a couple of times, but one of those times i noticed that he spent most of his time helping a guy figure out a problem with his plane. To me that says a lot about a guy.

Don't get me wrong, he is a great pilot. I believe someone mentioned a "true machine". I just liked other freestyle routines then his. His tend to be a little tame.....IMHO.
Different strokes for different folks.

And Remember when Hanno Pretner (the biggest TOC winner of all time) was disqualified for some technical error (airplane design), that was allways suspecious (Bill needed an American winner)

No, he was banned fo something very stupid he did....
Anyway, let it rest, I know he is a great pilot, he's just not everyones favourite, thats all. Is that too hard to believe?

Hi Guys,
My two cents are that Chip is a good guy.
He went out of his way to help me out with my airplane set-up and advice. I did not approach him, he instead offered me help if needed.
Heck he even lent me one of his airplanes and has given me encouragment.

If you are allowed to say your opinions about him, why can't he? Just cause you like him and he doesn't, means that he can't say what he thinks of him?
Anyway, this thread has gotten way out.....Some people like him, some don't.....I met him in Cork, he was a nice guy, willing to help and so on. He is obviously a great flier too. But I don't want him to win, simply because I prefer Somenzini, CPLR, Silvestri, Briggs, etc! I think I can have my own opinion, whether you like it or not.

CPLR for me ... Go Europe! (I'd like to say got Uk, but, alas, that is not possible)...
Ryder Cup then TOC! All we need is the Pagaent in Japan and its a clean sweep.

What did Chip do to get banned from all of those contests?
Also I agree with Alex, 3dbatixkid need to keep his rude comments to himself. All of the TOC guys that I have met or been around so far (Somenzini, Thomas, Taylor, Shulman, Goldsmith, Gray) have been very nice and helpful, and some people just have bad days, you can't tell why he was acting like that unless you had been around him for a while.

He is a very good person, and a very good flyer, competitor.
I root for CPLR because he is using my Fiber Optic extensions. But Chip is an OK guy.

Since I don't the details, it wouldn't be fair to speculate on this.
But certainly no worse then a lot of teenagers would have, it just happened to be an expensive car.
