well I've logged about 10 flights with this POS (crashed twice) and as you can see I'm not all that impressed with it. I'm really having a hard time with flying it. and at first I thought it was me but I'm better then that and now that i've got to fly it a couple of times I can see what's wrong with it. every time i give it elevator it wants to ROLL bad. I balanced it to specs and all I can think of is when I pull back one of the elevators isn't pulling as hard as the other one and it causes it to roll almost as fast as you would by giving it half aileron.
when I slowed it down and tried to hover it I had to give it so much aileron just wanted to roll. I'm running a OS 91 with a 16X6 prop. I think it might be a little big but I tried a 13X8 tonight and it almost didn't get off the ground and really didn't want to climb.
after looking at the stabilizer it looks like its off some, Is there anyway I can fix this? the fit was so nice an tight I when i put it together I'm guessing it was off from the factory and i didn't notice it when i put it together.
anyway any help would be great. I'm not running a computer radio other wise I would program one of the elevators to pull alittle harder then the other and i think that would fix it. but i'm stuck or now. please help

Hi there.
First, I would check the lateral balance (put a finger in the middle of the fuse in the back and pull upwards on the prop) and then I would tune the throws down on the elevator. It is snapping, and snapping can be caused not being laterally balanced and a heavy plane also. I flew my Seagull edge .90 with a Saito 150 and it was heavy but it didnt snap when I lateral balanced and tuned the low rate elevator down.
Best of luck
Shane

Well I think I figured out the problem with it rolling, I was just giving it to much elevator causing it to stall a wing and rolling out. As far as the prop I think a 14X6 or an 8 might have helped but there was something up with the fuel tank and it stalled out during a flat spin and came down pretty hard. Since the plane had no glide factor it was really hard to land it on a dead stick and it went in kind of hard and snapped it into two. The sad thing was it didn’t even make me mad, I had nothing but problems with it, I never had a flight I really had fun with I mostly just flew it in circles and tried to figure out how the fly it and it never was fun really.
But I picked up magic extra 330l with a .52 and have had a blast with it so I’m not too sad and I’m still flying and that’s all that matters.

I have a seagull edge and I am running a ASP .91 four stroke. I want the plane to hover and she won't. I was using a 13.4 prop and now changed it to a 12x4 and have not tryed it yet. any sugestions on the what prop will work the best for this?

the elevators or ran by two servos and with out a computer radio it made it pretty hard to dial in. I'm still running the 91fx but changed to a 14x10 and had good luck with it so far it doesn't pull real hard or have alot of power but I think it's cause the plane has been repaired to much it's pretty heavy now and it's no light weight to start with.
I tried a 15x8 and it just didn't seam to fly fast enough to keep it good and steady with out being full throttle. the 14 inch i can fly around 1/3-1/2 pretty good and have some power for a climb, but it don't take long to peater out. the plane really needs a 120 or beter i think to get it up to a good performance level due to it's weight.
If your just building it don't fly it untill you reglue every seam you can, the first crash I had just bumped the front on the ground comming in for a landing and did alot of damage to it and most of the ply wood parts didn't even brake the just came apart.
I hope you have beter luck then I did, it's a beautiful plane to bad mine didn't fly as good as it looked[

You are way overpropped: go to a 14 x 6 as was mentioned earlier. I had an MVVS 91 on this plane. The MVVS likes big props, but this combination had problems taking off on a 13 x 8. It just would not lift without using one and a half runways. When I changed the prop to a 14 x 6 and got it to lift it was so sensitive to elevator that I (barely) managed a cicuit to get it down safely. I cut down the elevator movement by about half again and it was flyable but so snappy at the bottom of loops that you could not do many manoeuvres.
I then reduced the movement some more until I noticed the limitation - just a few degrees - and it was almost alright. I did give it a chance with CG changes, et cetera but the plane was never a pleasure to fly (as far as I was concerned) and was always hard work. Eventually I lost it in a crash. Yes, you guessed it - snapped out of the bottom of a loop.

You should try a 15 x 4 wideblade, but that plane is heavy for hovering with the ASP 91 four stroke. It might just, but you'll be on full throttle.
