Default plane wants to roll with full elevator

I'm out of idea's, what would cause my edge to pull so hard when i give it any elevator input?

Probably it is snapping due to too much elevator. Try a nice large loop with very little elevator. If this works OK, but "rolls out" when you try tighter loops with more elevator then that explains it. Every plane has a point at which too much elevator causes a roll. You may get other responses that say to check that both elevator halves move up and down the same amount (good advice). Also check that one wing is not heavier than the other (also good advice). But I suspect it is simply too much elevator. Is it fairly heavily loaded? What size plane?

I agree with DMc One other thing you could check is your wing incidence, and check for warps.

I am guessing that you are driving the 2 elevators independantly. If you are, make sure that they are set up the same. Check that the throw travels are identical and at the same speed. Asymmetrical throws can cause roll. Some planes are a lot more sensitive to this than others.

Set your low rates to 10-12 degrees of throw MAX and fly the plane again. You should not have any snapping issues at these throws with an Edge. The best way to verify that the elevator halves travel together, if they are driven by seperate servos, is to make a pair of pointers from a pair of clothespins and .070 carbon fiber rod. Clip the pointers on the elevators and fiddle with them thill they are even with each other. Now move the elevator through it's full range of travel, the pointers should track each other as closely as possible.

Also, a nose heavy plane will tend to depart with hard elevator pulls. Tail heavy planes will depart but the departure is softer and less violent.

All are great advice. Check your CG also. (roll inverted from level and see if it pulls down hard, if it does, you could probably get away with a rearward CG; Ideally, you want the plane to fly level inverted and upright or pull very slightly when inverted.

I have many planes that snap with a foward CG, but once the CG is back enough, the snap is lessened or even eliminated.

Hope this helps,
Brandon
