FLITON EXTRA ELEVATOR HOLE

NJ ... you are only starting on your plane now? Hehehe ... thought yours would have been done by now. This is the problem with the Fliton Extra, you need to cut your own exit holes for the rudder pull-pull and the elevator push rods.
Have fun ...

Thanx Fletch, I finally figured it out lol. Now my next question is, The engine mount & firewall. I'm used to buying planes that already have the engine mount holes installed so all I have to do is screw in the engine mount to the firewall. With this plane I have to drill the hole to the firewall to install the engine mount. I want to mount the saito 100 to this plane inverted but what would be the right way to install the engine mount so it gets the right thrust, Please if you can provide pictures and tell exactly cause I have never done this before, Thanks.

A few guys in the main fliton thread have nice pictures of that but It is not facing me. Tianci and qweedqdwag had nice pictures but the picture was on the side.

The right thrust is built in, just line up the mount and it will be fine. Just remember to line it up slowly so all 4 screws will be spot on. The you need to get the blind nuts in, you can use a piece of ply at the front as you put the screw in to get the blind nut to hold. Even better if you can get a large diameter washer for the screw too.

The hole locations in the fist picture are as you are looking at the firewall with 1/4" off-set for right thrust. You may only want 3/16" offset.
I needed to do a little clearing on one bolt and a bit of the mount to get my motor back far enough. The bottom side of the plane is up in the second picture.

Hey,
Thanks for your help but I might get a GP engine mount becuase i heard it already has the marks on it, I cant seem to figure it out. The way i'm going i may never be finished with this plane. The other problem i'm having is when I make beleive i'm mounting the engine mount to the fire wall and i'm putting the saito 100 on the engine mount the throttle linkage is hitting the engine mount.
