OK MODEL'S 3d cap need some info
anyone have any info are a website for OK MODEL'S
im intrested in this plane(3d cap) but would like to get some more info on it
i've read a few reviews on it and it sounds like the plane im looking for.
it is distributed from MRC as far as i know
but of the reviews i've, read there are some conflecting stats!
any info would be great

It is a heavy airplane for a 45-size 3D bird -- mine came out at 7.5lbs. MRC is very adament on not over-powering this airplane. They reluctantly replaced my wing after it split down the middle in flight -- lucky for me I limped it back to the ground without further damage. It was very clear the problem was related to OK models construction and their lack of glue in the wing root area. I had an MDS-68 on it, which was not a powerhouse either (the engine was sick and I eventually got rid of it.)
Both major reviews say the MVVS .49 engine is appropriate. I tried to order one from Morris and gave up after 6 weeks. I now have an OS SX .50 on it and that appears to barely give it enough power for simple aerobics -- not confident it will ever allow the 3D capabilities to shine. (engine still very rich, not broken in yet)
It is expensive for a 45-size airplane, over $300.00. My wife picked mine up from a local shop in Palm Bay, Florida when they had a get-rid-of-it price discount of 30% -- she only paid $245.00 for it. Even that was expensive.
The airplane covering and graphics is awesome. Instead of the traditional heat shrink covering it uses a foam back covering, pre-printed with graphics. ABC plastic makes up a large percentage of the finished edges of the airplane -- for the most part it correctly augments the construction. The cowl, on the other hand, is very difficult to construct -- it is made up of 3 pieces of ABC plastic that you have to cut out of a larger piece. You assemble it with super glue and try very hard not to be messy with it. Any spilt glue turns white against the red background and cannot be removed. I have used oil-based polyurethene to turn the white clear and hope it will withstand the fuel over time.
It flies well but I don't yet have a feel for its 3D capability because I don't yet have the power to turn that feature on.

what did you wing span come out as
of the reviews ive read 1 say's 59in
while another say's 61
does it carry some of the old habbits of the other standard model caps like the wing slide out of the sky on low speed turns
my LHS can get me one for $275
so now i have to think do i want to get this are save 75 bones and get the ACE staudacher 60 the price is pushing me towards staudacher naybe ill just get staudacher and build the rudder and the elavators larger to get a more 3d flying surface
what do u think
seems like for the price of the cap not alot of folks are quite happy withe the fact that they so the max motor size is this but it way underpowered with the max motor size in it
any one else ever had are still do have one of these????

If your goal is 3D check out the new Great Plains U-Can-Do-3D. I've seen one in the hands of a novice and it was awesome. Marry a Saito FA-100 to it and you've got all the 3D you'll ever want. It is also much cheaper than the 3D Cap and tops in at just about 7pounds.
