Hi,

Anyone can recommend any sites that can teach me to fly 3D? I just built a Great Planes GEE BEE but cant seem to do anything beyond loops, rolls, stalls and knife edges. HOW do you make it hover??????? I can hold it, just keep chasing it all over the sky!

Is this the kit you built? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJ592&P=7

The plane should perform well. If you are chasing the plane over the sky the CG is probably too far forward. Move it back carefully (a little at a time). Lots of control throw helps and good quality fast servos and mixing to include 50% expo also help. The proper propeller selection will also help. Larger diameter with low pitch is preferred.

Check the horizon site for 3D flight tips and information by TOC competitor Mike McConnville @ http://www.horizonhobby.com/

Hope this helps.

Yes thats the kit. CG is OK as per plan slightly aft actually. Its got a OS LA40. Prop 10X6 maybe I should try a 11X4 or something.

The LA engine would be marginal for this plane to do what you are attempting. Trying the 11X4 would help. If you can get a FX 46 which would be a better choice. You may have access to Irvine engines. I have had very good luck with the 0.46 and the 0.53 which is in the same case and produces 1.7HP instead of the 1.4HP

A CG a little aft of the recommended might also help. Just do it a little at a time. Check the lateral balance and make sure you have enough right thrust in the engine for good vertical uplines.
