Hey guys, i got notification that my planes plus 27% extra is going to be here on wendsday. I will be running hitec 5645 mgs and one 5745 mg. Only problem is i dont have an engine. I found a brison 3.2 for 400 and it weighs less than a da however i dont know how the power compare. Anyone have any insight that would help or should i stick with a da,bme,3w,zdz 50?!?! by the way i will do a full build thread if you buys can help me.

sir-crash-alot,
By all means do the build thread. They will help you and other members. The Brison is a good engine so go with it. I have a couple of BME's in 27% planes that work well. I would expect the power to be comparable over most engine brands.

The Brison might be to long for the PP 27%. (UPS just delivered mine!). I had to cut about a 1/2 inch off of my CA Models 27% to accommodate the Brison.... It's worth the trouble, because it's a rocket ship with the 3.2 spinning a MSC 22x8.

Can you guys comment on the quality of this plane?? I've been eyeballing em for awhile now, but @ $299, I'm wondering if they're any good.
Do they come with useable hardware? how about the covering? chinacoat?
Thanks

Yes, the covering is Chinacote. The quality seem ok but I'm having a difficult time getting any info on proper assembly. Mine came with no manual and I've tried several times to get info on where some parts are supposed to go and I always get the "We'll e-mail it to you and it has never come. Now this was a kit that was bought in about May of last year for $499.00. Planes Plus people seem to know very little about this ARF. It can be a little frustrating.

It's a cheap plane...you get what you pay for. It still looks nice, but is WAY too heavy for its size amd a standard 50cc class engine will make it a heavy flyer. However, if you don't care about wingloading and power-to-weight is all that matters to you, it's gonna have plenty of that!

guys guys guys....first off, take a look at the seems on the plane, they do that to protect the seems from spilltting like most models if you overshrink them. second the covering is perfect, not a wrinkle and it even matchs my monokote! This airplane is a columbo design, the quality is top rate. The hardware that it does come wit is top rate to. if you need a manual look at the chp and dv manuals, there pretty much the same. On the weight issue, it is fairly light to tell you the truth, at 15 lbs, thats not bad however the wing area is not high so the wingloading does go up. this airplane floats though and every surfave is tapered and big. If you even want ill even make a manual, its a straight build. Also if you talk to greg, he knows a lot. Any questions you want, i can answer. guys do more research on your plane youll find out a lot. guys there is no manual from them.

I have a Brison 3.2 in a EF 87" Yak. It has 6 gal through it now & turns a MSC 22/8 @ 7000 rpm. It would be quite difficult to find a 50cc engine that will turn that prop any better. You already have a good, solid engine,, go with it. You'll love it.

das are also very expensive. guys the quality of the kit is top notch. find the thread on flyinggiants.com and you can take a look at the quality. i found the hardware to be awesome, the wood was of good quality, and the covering was as good if not better than on h9's products! it is so easy to build, it doesnt need a manual however if you do need one, chp's are very helpfull. for 300, there is nothing better for 400 there is still nothing better and for 500 well you can get the picture. yes the wingloading is a little high but not to bad...15-15.5 lbs is good and i bet you could shed .5-1 lbs easily if you were that worried. if you have any doubts about it, dont be worried, i will do a full build thread when i get more products. if you want help now subscribe to flyinggiants.com and look up youngflyers previous threads, its there. pictures to come later!
