Well if you're up to look at anything don't hesitate to do some research on the OMP .90 size Fushion. It'll definitely suit the flying style you are after. It is only available in kit form right now but it will not be long before the ARFs are available from my understanding. Biggest catch is of course that it is a profile but hey as we all know the make up for their looks in their flying. Of course me being a profile flyer thinks it's absolutely gorgeous!

Good luck with your search. Hope you find the right one!

Oh brother if OMP asked me to be their test pilot I'd be in my own little heaven on earth. Maybe one day i'll be so lucky.

Analog-Boy, have a look at the Maxair Rev II. It's a 68" 8.5lb plane. It's also designed and imported by a Canadian guy in NB. The site is www.maxairrc.com. I don't know how to do a link or I would do it for you. The videos look great. I bought one and i'm putting it together now. Here's a couple of pics.

What about the CA models planes? A widebody, zafiro. or epsilon would all fit the bill. The zafiro leans more towards 3D than the others and has a fiberglass fuse.

I am currently monokoting an epsilon. Its a great looking plane!

The plane that fits your requirements is the UltraRC 3D Quest. See it at the UltraRC website and be sure to watch the Videos. http://www.ultrarc.com/3dquest/index.htm

The price is $249.99 but there is a Winter promo price of $199.99.

The photo below is my 3D Quest powered by a YS 1.10.

those CA models are awsome. however the widebody which was the one i was considering said starting at 199. i figured ok base arf blanc white or something but thats for the kit. its like 400 for the arc. thats a little rich for my blood. the quest isnt quite my style but ive been lookign at the showtime. its not so bad im thinking saito 125 or moki 135. any other suggestions.

Basement Troll...
That is one sweet looking airplane. I have one on order. Should be here in about a week. How do you like yours? Why don't you post those pictures on the thread in the ARF forum or better yet start a build forum in the 3D section. I'll join with you as soon as I get mine. Take careful measurements especially with the weight and let us know what you got.
THanks
Barry

Hi Barry. I just got the plane yesterday. I weighed all the parts, some hardware still in the bags and it comes out to 5.5 lbs. Now there are some things that won't go on so it will be a bit less. I figure about 8.5 with the YS 110. I have run into snag though. The screws for the control horns are too short for the surfaces which is no big deal. The other problem is the backing for the elevator control horns is only on the bottom of the elevator. I need to contact Maxair and see what to do. I guess I could do a bit of a build thread. I was thinking I would take pictures along the way and then do the whole thing at once. I will keep you posted.

Basement Troll...

That weight sounds good. I'm hoping for about the 8.5 weight myself. I'm gonna use a Saito125 in mine. I want to compare it to my 110s. The 110s are sweet engines but I'm dieing to try one of the Saitos. I've already got the engine just waiting for the plane to show up. Because it's an international shipment it takes longer than usual for me.

I don't understand your problem with the control horns but I'm sure I will when I inspect the airplane.

How was the covering? Does it look nicely assembled? Glue?

Anyways, good luck with your build. I'll be watching.
Thanks
Barry

Analog Boy,

Do yourself a favour and get a Black Horse Bravo 303 3D. ( Attention there is also a plane called Bravo 303- which is only a F3A Trainer). It is only 8 lbs. and you can fly it with a .90 2 stroke. This plane is actually known as Kyosho - Hype Acromaster 3D. I have flown this for two years. It is everything you will ever want. A trainer, a 3D machine, anything you just name it. . F3A is at its best. You will be amazed!!!!

Here is the link.

Regards.

Zafer

P.S. I have also 3D Quest and OMP Yak 65 Pro. They are good but cannot get even closer to Black Horse.. This my $.02.

Barry I'm going to start a thread about this plane. I emailed Jason and he got back to me right away. I need to take some more pics to show what i've done. By thsounds of the 125 it should have lots of grunt. I like Saito's but I'm not fond of them inverted. I had a 100 in my Harrier and I had to be very careful not to load it with fuel and get a hydraulic lock. I will strat the thread today sometime. As far as the plane, the construction looks a little rougher than some of the arfs but it seems incredibly strong. I did spend a few minutes putting glue around the front of the plane. The covering on mine was very good. My guess is that if it flies well the construction will look better.

Zafer,
i have heard extreme quality issues with blackhorse models. aswell their hardware packages are said to be crap. i would rather pay more and get a good quality airframe. i have been looking at the showtime a little more. it is one kick ass airplane. wat do you guys think of it with a moki 135 or saito 180. or would it be better with say a saito 125.

Analog Boy,

That video is really amazing.
I can only try those in AFPD,

I hope you can fly as good as Kyle does[X(]

As for the BH Bravo 303 3D, it is an avarage ARF made in China. You can be right about its quality. But hey, It is cheap and it flies very good. Well, it flies better than most of the big gassers IMHO.

Regards and good luck.

well F3A planes dp fly very true. the showtime is a bit of a hybrid if not a totall hybrid. aswell the quality is said to be exellent. i think ive made my choice it is more of the engine that is becoming the question. moki 135, OS 160 or saito 125/150. or possibly a ys 140.

o and if ican fly aswell as kyle. i can on AFPD if im lucky. but theres lots of time for that. hes 3 or 4 years older than me i got time.

I have seen the BH Bravo 303 3D fly and its good, it seemed really easy to hang and all. As for quality issues its not like the years gone by, its pretty good but darn cheap. Also, its not a China made plane but rather in Vietnam.
