a moki can be tuned correctly very quickly , USE A TACH

I tached it at 8100 on ground with a Bambula 18x8, anything higher it leans out when going vertical.

you have to back it off at least 200rpm or it won't run in the air. always back mine off 300rpm a moki will NOT run lean. it will quit everytime you point the nose up. all my moki's smoke like they have a smoke system on them (well almost)

You can also use a Perry pump to prevent the engine from leaning out. A good investment for this engine, and it has worked well for me.

Thanks guys, something to try. Also do you guys know where I can buy the low end knob O-rings. My low end knob seems loose and can be easily turned. Maybe the problem is there. One time I was flying normaly and the engine just died and when I landed the low end turned almost 1/4 of a turn on the rich side.

Mecam,
Same thing was happening to my engine. I called Jim Gerard (you can get the number of Gerard Enterprises at the Horizon site under Moki) and he sent me some new o-rings free of charge. That's great customer service.

If only YS made a 180 ehhh......Has anybody tried the YS 140DZ in one? If you keep it down at 12 pounds, it should be killer.

Default GP 1.20-1.80 motor mount

The above mount should be able to handle anything you guys throw at it. I have my BME 50 mounted on it in my GP PW Extra. I do not know the weight but I'm sure its less than the Hangar 9 metal mount.

Link for the Cline PCFS. http://www.billsroom.com/pcfs/ Will provide constant pressure and fuel delivery.

Talk to Jim, he has lots-o-tricks for the Mokis. He can make 'em run the way they were supposed to!

Default My new much lighter engine mount

Here is a much lighter engine mount from Yellow Aircraft. It's a .60 size Nylon mount. It's very stiff and I think it will absorb vibration better.

If that wooden firewall can handle that Moki, that Nylon mount better be.

Default 7 ounces!!!

I've got a H9 Cap/Moki 1.8 that also desperately needs a diet (13.6 lbs). I didn't realize that blasted metal mount was 7 ounces. Has anyone tried that GP mount yet? Might be an easy and cheap way to shave a few ounces quickly.

Also where do you get that Yellow mount pictured above?

That GP mount comes in two sizes. One for 1.20's and another for up to 1.80's
