i dont really want to talk bad about sig planes but i had the extra with saito 180 and it flew nice but for 3-d i dont think its the best choice. to heavy wing loading is no good.

I had one and it flew great but it wasn't a great 3D plane. I think the elevators are too small. If you sat it next to a Dave Patrick Extra and compared the size of the elevators you would see what I'm talking about. Don't be fooled by the box saying 3d beveled surfaces.

is that because the plane itself is heavy ?
How much does it weigh in Kg's?

Yes. I flew one today with a Moki 1.8 and while it flew great, the tail surfaces are too small for good 3D.

For those who have flown the Extra, what differences do you find between it and the Edges and Caps - differences that are related to the wing position within the fuselage?

Hmmm... I guess I was a little vague. I realize the different wing positions but I was curious as to how much difference people find this makes in the Extras from the Edges & Caps.

Thanks!
