I installed the moki 2.10 and everything except the muffler fit inside the cowl. The engine sits diagonally on the firewall so the pitts style muffler didn't work so well. I ended up getting a bisson muffler that looks like the os fx series mufflers. The cowl did need trimming for the muffler to fit.

I have been asking this same question and am happy to finaly get an answer.
As for the engine fitting in the cowl will it fit if the engine is mounted at 90 deg. instead of the off angle it is supposed to be?
Will the engine still fit in the cowl with a pitts style muffler?
Thanks in advance

I will take a close look tonight. There was lots of room for the motor and pitts style muffler when mounted diagonally. I will post back with my opinion tomorrow.

oh one more thing. I had originally tried to use the pitts style muffler and along with the problem of the pipes exiting the cowl wrong I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to run the trrottle rod. There just wasnt any room between the head and the muffler you might need a spacer. If youre not totally against it I would consider the other muffler that I mentioned. Other adjustments I needed was to enlarge the slots in the motor mount also sanded off the lip on the motor mount where the anti vibe screwed fast. I still had to use a clamp to hold the mount far enough apart to stuff that big engine in. Not a problem if you turn the engine to 90 degrees just take it into consideration before drilling the holes.

after a close inspection I am gonna say probably not. With the engine mounted diagonally there is only 1/4" space between the head and the cowling.

I don't mind if the cylinder head has to stick out a little, I just don't want the muffler hanging out all over the place.
I hope the muffler will stay inside the cowel with just the two ex. pipes sticking out the bottom,
