Only two words to explain it, "LOVE IT"!!!!! Best $170.00aus I've ever spent... If you dont have one, GET ONE!!!!

Gary schmedje turned up with a "CM Pro Giles 2002 Fun Fly". Very impressive also... About the same size as the funstar, and quite similar (to a point) but had better colours for visibility. I think I'll add some bright stripes to the funstar which will make it easier to see...
what is the weight wingspan and length

Just found that that soon Tower will be selling ARFs from Phoenix Models.

Funstar 3D

This looks like a pretty good buy for $110 USD.

Anyone in US tried it?

Thanks

They are available in Canada by the looks, so should be in the LHS's in the US by now... There is a new one on ebay, so they must be readily available... See here http://cgi.*********/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...category=19164

The Wildcard and the Funstar have the same specs.
It is obvious that it comes from the same Factory.
Irvine and Phounix set there name on the box and here you go!

I use the 46FX with a APC 12,5x3,75.
It is better to put the 50SX on it with the same prop.
The 46FX have enough power but the gas respons with this prop is not very good thats why the 50SX.

This is the original Wildcard sceme.
I added silver coloured oracover strip on the underside of the Wilcard just in the area of the spars so that you cannot see it from the upperside.
Visibility is better but still not very good.
Transparant is ok for weight saving but the downside is that visibility will be worse.
I make for my self a compromise for my new Funtana Pro, upperside normal Oreacover, underside ranparant Oracover light.

That original "Wildcard" sceme is so much better than the original "Funstar" sceme!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to go with the good old checkers underneath, and sunburst on top. Weight of it wont make too much difference as it hovers at less than half throttle anyway (not that I'm real good at hovering yet)...

Just got mine from Tower. Anybody figure out what the bag of wood parts is for? Not mentioned in the instructions. Looks like one piece is for making a wing-bolt support to keep the wing bolts from pulling through the wing. There are two more pieces the same size, plus several short pieces of tri-stock.

Hi rcflyer11

Not sure about the "bag of wood parts". I can remember thinking the same thing, but cant remember if I used it or not. I'm sure I did use something out of it though. I'll let you know in a couple of days; I'm putting together another one at the moment (a low level hover and engine cut DONT mix)!!!

Default Funstar 3d

Has anyone weighed their Funstar 3D with an OS 46 fx? Also will the 46 fx pull it out of a hover with power to spare?

Havnt seen one with an OS 46 FX, but my funstar would hover at 1/2 throttle with a GMS 47 MK2 (APC 12 1/4 x 3 3/4 prop) and climb vertical from a hover like a rocket at full throttle. So my opinion would be, yes, you will have power to spare from a 46 FX...

How does the landing gear seem to be holding up? It looks kind of thin.
