Default CG BALANCE-UP or Down ?

I've been trying to balance a H9 Extra260, with a lot of problems. Seems to not want to pitch in one direction when balancing upside down. All my other planes. when balanced upside down were no problem. When I was into scale warbirds, I found that lifting right side up worked better. By putting 2 wires in the wing at the root at the thrust line, and cg, you could pick the plane up sitting on the floor. It would pitch in the direction it was heavy. Has anyone had this problem?. I've got a DA50 with pitts muffler in the Extra, with the rudder servo in the tail. When balancing on a cg stand upside down, it seems not to stay level, no matter where I place the rx battery. I know that most of the fine tuning is done in the air after it's flying. But I don't want to be way off to start with. I'm trying to start with 5 inches back at the wing root .
Thanks for help and advise, Rick
