Randy,
I first flew it without the wing tips, but the cg was so far forward I did not see any difference. There is an addendum sheet in the kit that specifies a new CG. Since I do not read japanese I started with it as per the plans. It is at least 2 inches further back now. I have to measure it from the TE because my metric rule is short. My only recommendation would be to find the Ono Special because it has bigger ailerons, which if you really are looking for a 3D plane it really needs. I got to visit Ono's shop in southern Tokyo and saw the original Ono Special and the bigger Demonstrator.

MRC now has the Seductions for $155 for the Wildstyle and $160 for the Freestyle. They are in New Jersey and are offering free shipping and no sales tax, not to shabby, heres the link.

My LHS says they can get me either one from Alech Marketing... In October.
I won't mind the wait, and I'm going with a Wildstyle. For the Freestyle, I may give the Lanier ARF a shot. It used to be the Goldberg Matrix Extreme 3D, and now I guess it's the Lanier Razor.

I like the Razor, but i am worried about the weight. the reason the freestyle can do 3d is not the large wing area but rather the fact that it is only 4 - 4 1/2 lb. If the razor comes out at 5lb + then i don't know if it will still perform stall manuevers well.

I like to go with the LHS as long as the price is close. I was shooting for a winter build anyway. I've got another project already working that I too easily put off as it is.
Thanks for the tip though.

It's very rare that one of MY thread is brought back from the dead...
I think if my Seduction was 5 lbs it would have been one of the WORST flying airplanes around...The weight is EVERYTHING with this plane. I think mine was closer to 4 lbs...Lighter than my Sledge is.
The Razor looks different....They changed the fuselage, rounded off some things, used balsa wing tips, and made it look heavy. I am not sure what they REALLY did, but that's what I see. I think the Matrix was an exact clone, these things look a little different. Their color schemes are awful.
The Wildstyle has always been on my list, but I just haven't heard enough about it or heard enough flight reports to do the final convincing. $155 is still exepensive for some laser-cut balsa and no hardware...
The videos I have on it still impress me everytime I see them though...Maybe a few of you can get them and let me know how they really fly...

An extra pound on the Freestyle would be terrible. ARF's suck. Not to mention ruin the reputation of the plane. I'm surprised Pilot let them produce that brick.
You got flight videos of the Wildstyle. Where?
nice screen name my friend!!!

I suppose that this belongs in another thread, but there was a post by "Knife Brother" about a year ago that the weight of the prototype (as it is now known) Lanier Razor ARF was a little under 5 lbs (4.8, I think) with engine and standard servos. He also said that a 2M version would follow shortly...
Ah, here is the post (scroll down about half-way on this page):

shadowspring, here is the link for the videos-
http://www23.tok2.com/home/cha2/movie/movieindex.htm
Just scroll down a tad until you see "Wildstyle". There are two videos of it...
Towards the bottom of the page are the Seduction Freestyle videos, now THOSE will impress you. I still watch the YoYo video every once in a while and it's incredible...The high alpha rolls are perfect...
I really don't understand why this airplane never got popular, but it has to have sometihng to do with the price and availability.

I love this pic-

Here are some videos of the Freestyle, this way you don't have to go searching on that website. They are all of the standard Freestyle, NOT the Ono Special. I had the Ono special which was even better!

One of the pictures that sold me-
http://www.rcuniverse.com/attachment...=&postid=58876
There was a whole gallery of pictures of that airplane with shots from all kinds of angles... That's not one of the good ones, but still shows how great it looks.
Besides the way it flew, one of the reasons I got it was because I thought (still think) it is one of the BEST looking airplanes around. I've never seen an airplane that looked better than that one!

That yo yo video is what sold me as well. That Ono is a little bit good. I built one and crased it after only a few flights due to a faulty clevis, or a faulty brain for using those crap nylon clevises. I absolutly loved it though. So . . . . . . . . i ordered another one the instant i got home. My first one came in at 4 1/4 lb with ys 63, i'll try for 4 even this time.
Thank you very much for the videos of the Wildstyle, i'll probably get one to mach the Freestyle. Both seductions out at the field, cool!!!
Nice pic, i like how you did the ailerons in white.
As far as why it is not popular?
PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!!!!!

Thanks shadowspring...
That's an old picture of mine, but before I got rid of it I made a few changes to the covering scheme. It was smoothed out and rounded off towards the cowl. A new canopy was put on and everything was just smoothed out...I rushed through it the first time. Had to get it in the air!
I'd also love to have a Wildstyle...Hopefully in the next couple of months.
I think it's odd that in all the videos, neither the Freestyle nor Wildstyle are shown doing an upright harrier. I know the Freestyle won't do it, but I'm sure the Wildstyle will...

Are you ever going to build yours Chuck? Still have them?
There is absolutely no chance of an upright harrier with the Freestyle, but I could do it inverted. I was too scared to do it low enough for it to matter though...

I am running my ys63 on a 13 x 6 apc, I want a little more speed as I fly it freestyle rather than 3d.
I understand the yoyo vid the engine was a 63 with a 13 x 4 W. I guess for the 53 go down an inch in pitch.
Cheers
Kris
