Forgot to ask, If I start the download at work in the evenings and then have to stop it in the morning when the employees get there, when I restart it the next evening does it start over or where it left off from the night before? Thanks DC

Virus is not a concern. The tracker of the torrent connects you with the peers which then pull down the 2MB chunks of the larger 4GB file. each one is hash checked to ensure it is what it is. If not it gets a hashfail and is chucked.

Bittorrent all over the news today on CNBC. Walmart looking to use it to distribute DVD's! They saw we were using it here on RCU and then figured if it is good enough for us then it is good enough for them

Am I doing something wrong. I downloaded the helicopter torrent. (first experience with torrent) and would like to get the shootout dvd too.

Hi i need help for this download!!!
I downloaded the torrent file using utorrent.
When it finished i ended up with a file which wasn't an ISO file but a FILE file.
Then a few days later suddenly an ISO file appeared next to the other file.
I tried to burn the ISO one as "BURN AS IMAGE" but it was a failure repeatedly.
I also tried to burn the other file but that didn't even want to start the "BURN AS IMAGE" it was failing the burn at the start!!
Then i tried the HASHCALC program and found the ISO file not to be correct and the other FILE(file type) file to be correct!!!!!
Thanks
How do you all manage??
Could any of you describe exactly what you did please????

I am downloading as we speak, but only at 65kbs max.
I have the speed setting pushed all the way up to 100mbs in the preferences box.
Is there anything else I can do to make it faster?
I downloaded utorrent, not bittorrent is there a difference?
Are there more peers available through bittorrent?
I usually only see about 10 to 12 at one time.
And I'm showing to only be getting 2 to 4 kbs transfer from each individual at once.
What will make this faster??
Thanks DC

this goes faster as more users get online to download it or those who have d/l it already keep their torrent client open so you can suck down from them

yes. the torrent is still up. if you go through this thread it is listed at the somerset signal sender site too. not sure why you are getting not found on the .torrent file. it downloads fine for me everytime

It might be quicker just to copy and paste the working links here rather than continuing to type about it.
http://www.somersetsignalsenders.org...06.iso.torrent
http://www.bittorrent.com/download.html . Are these the correct links?
That .torrent file link on http://www.rcuvideos.com/dvd is definitely dead. The page cannot be found.

the link is now fixed. it was an issue with the IIS not serving that extension.
http://origin-images.rcuniverse.com/...06.iso.torrent
www.rcuvideos.com/dvd also updated with working link. sorry about that. when I tested earlier I was on our RCU1 server which works fine. 2, 3 and 4 choked!

Does anyone know if this DVD will just be for sale somewhere?
After 2 weeks of downloads and reading through 9 pages of info and still not being able to get the downloaded files converted from ISO to DVD format I'm really thinking it would be much easier to just buy the disk, I know that I've waisted way more than the cost of the DVD in my waisted time trying to get this thing to work.

The disc is free to copy and duplicate as long as no profit is made on it. There is no problem distributing them in any way as long as you are only covering out of pocket cost. We did this DVD for the community to enjoy openly and not for any kind of profit.

and "extract to TucsonAerobaticShootout2006" , you will then have the dvd folder on your disc. (VIDEO_TS) Most software should be able to burn the folder.
Winrar is similar to the more known Winzip, it just handles more file types (including *.zip)
Hope that helps,
GJ
