I just finished tonight and it weigh's 12.5 lbs. Why is this how can i lighten it. Saito 150,true trun spinner, Standard size high torque servo's, 1 5cell 6v batt, everyting according to book.
and it supposed to go 9-10.5.lbs. But the balance checks out right
on the mark.

mine weighed 10.5 lbs with a OS 1.08 and tuned pipe, but I used hitec 225mg @ that are less than an ounce each, but still metal gear and 67oz each torque. Lithiums will lighten it up, and maybe light tires.

That is the exact setup I am looking at putting together. I am wondering if you just got a heavy one? The servos "standard vs minis" even if you went with all 225MGs only will save 1/2 oz per servo, so you would save 3 oz if you put them all the way around. This obviously would not be advisable in the tail. I willbe interested in what others have to say.

APC 17x6 @ 8900 rpm will just hover a 12 lb. bird. Not much more to pull out though
