RE: Peak Models 84" edge
Ok sorry it took me so long. I have been very busy ok below it the wing area. I figured it by root + tip /2 times the length. They must have not included the el and just added the stab.
Main wing = Root 21.5", tip 13", Len. 38"
Tail = Root 12", tip 8.5" Len 13.5"
each main wing is 655
each tail is 122
= a total of 1554
Hope this helps

RE: Peak Models 84" edge
Thanks for the info.
For the 1450 in^2 area they must be counting the area inside the fuse (between the wing roots). This gives you 1311 in^2.
You are still looking at less than 25 oz/in^2 at that size and weight. This is going to be a real floater!

I think that is what thet did because when I did the number I got what they did.
Main wing = Root 21.5", tip 13", Len. 42"
21.5 + 13 = 34.5 / 2 =

Main wing = Root 21.5", tip 13", Len. 42"
21.5 + 13 = 34.5 / 2 = 17.25 x 42 = 724.5 x 2 = 1449
At this weight, like you stated no stalls here! I have mounted my engine and hopefully today install the CDI and tank and servo.

RE: Peak Models 84" edge
Hi all
After some hard thinking I have decided to go with a 50cc engine. I just know this edge is going to be a great flyer and just do not want to lack on power. I have also decided to go with the new DL50. It is about 1/2 price of a DA and I have been reading some good things about it.

freebird1,
I've been following that DL50 forum, I look forward to hearing your report, as does the rest of the country. There is very little information so far as I can tell. There's really only a handful of people that have reported on it, although they are pretty good :-). I wish you the best of luck and hope you love that engine. There's no doubt you love the plane...happy flying!

It was no big deal to remove the 40, but it was hard to when it was all but done. O well, I think it will be for the best in the long run.
As far as for the DL who know how it will be, but I am not to worried about it. If there is a demand for them they will sell them; and to keep the demand they will make parts. Peak, has always been very good at backing their product they sell.
I will be going to my shop later today and I will get try to get that code for you.

Pressed the buy button on the DL50. Should have it in 5 days. I have a friend I sold the 40 to and forgot to get the #. I will see him tomorrow and get them. Sorry about that.

RE: Peak Models 84" edge
freebird,
It is very difficult getting to the ARF site, it always times out (T1 at work and cable at home). I will keep trying. You might as well keep up your typing skills, because after you get the 104", you'll have to start another thread :-). Can you post any pics of the 104. Also, what price did they quote you?
Thanks,
Gary

I too have the slow site loading and I have DSL. I have found in the afternoon it will load faster. The price they stated was $680 shipped! here is the photos on ARF site of the 104" . Also peck has the 84" edge and a DL50 combo. To be honest I would love to start a peck (ARF) 104" edge thread Hope this helps.

Well I have not stoped building on the edge, but backordered part and servos have me at a stall. I am about 50% done and got most of my servos and stuff in, so it should be no time till I am looking up at it instead of down. [sm=lol.gif]

I am putting the final touch on mine and will have in the air soon if I can just get time to finish it. Should be done by this coming weekend. If anyone is building this Edge I can save you some time and guess work. The manual is not that good, but a easy build.

Hi freebird1,
I've been watching this thread with great anticipation. I can't wait to hear your report, and if it's as good as I hope it is, I will take you up on your offer of help when I get hold of one.
Is there anyone in Australia who has purchased this or any other kit from Peak Model? I would like to hear of your experience.
Thanks.

RE: Peak Models 84" edge
Well the build & plane have been no problem, but getting my other stuff has been a nightmare. I am all but thru, and now my new matchbox futaba I ordered from tower was defective. A new one is on its way, but man that is very dis-hearting. I am useing Hiitec 9855 (330 Oz of toq at 6v from powerhobby right everytime) , futaba 319RX, 7 cap thus the reason for the matchbox. The reason for the high torq servos is the controls. They are huge. should dance, if I can evey giter done!

freebird1,
I've ordered my engine
http://www.copperheadaviation.com/co...?idProduct=178
and am about to order this plane. I sure would like a flight report first. Is your DL-50 working ok? How long until you think you'll have this bird in the air?
Thanks,
Gary

RE: Peak Models 84" edge
Does anyone know if there is any video available from anyone with this plane flying? I'm wondering if I should get this plane or pay a little more and get something from one of the more well known brands that have a proven track record. Any thoughts? I really can't decide, but the next closest thing by the other makers, with shipping, is around $600.

I couldn't stand it any longer, I had to have one of these. I placed my order tonight and hope to get it some time next week. My Copperhead Venom 45cc should also arrive next week. Hopefully by the following weekend, I'll have it built and ready to maiden. I will do my best to post a flight report and depending on how well she flies (or should I say, how well I fly her), maybe I'll post a video, although I'll try to find a better pilot than myself which shouldn't be too difficult .
Gary
Oh, I still have to buy some servos, it might be a couple of weeks before the maiden [>:]...
