I was hoping they would come out with this plane. But I think CG or Lanier whoever that was going to make it, for what ever reason, desicided not to manufactor it.

Its too bad, because I wanted one.

I asked Lanier some time ago and was told that it "was not going to be produced".

Warmer, warmer........

I know its not an ARF but buy a Doghouse Extreme and build it.

You wont find an easier plane to slap together.

Check out my review I did on the DH-X here:

For my taste, it looked way too much like the Doghouse eXtreme to not have it's designer's permission to produce. It looked like a duplicate. The colors even matched one of the pictures on the Doghouse website.

Wayne,
I would probably build one. I have a saito 91 not in use. But I have never seen one fly. I would really like to fly one to see if I would like it.

The doghouse extreme is on my list to build. It might be another year or so. Maybe I can find one at a swap meet this summer already built.

I've seen pics of Chip Hyde and Jason Schullman flying one. Big smiles on both faces! It's gotta be pretty good, right?

I just need to start buying lotto tickets! Then I could just order all of these planes! Having to set priorities SUCKS!

Guy's
You'd like the DH-X if you flew one. I promise.
Its basically a trainer that'll 3D. Control surface size, moments and a simple design make it fly so well.

I was there when Jason S. flew one for the first time and he really seemed to like it.

What's the big deal about the Doghouse Extreme? Its nothing more than an Ugly Stick with big control surfaces. The Ultrastick 60 will do everything the Doghouse Extreme will do. The Doghouse hovers well and will Harrier pretty well when set up tail heavy. But it does very poor knife edge and waterfalls. I don't see what all the excitement is about. There are many airplanes that are better suited to learning 3D that will do all the maneuvers.

I would really like to fly one before I bought it. I have flown some pretty radically modified kit sticks, and I would like to have another one. Because some days when the wind is blowing 15mph it hard to enjoy flying a 4lb profile. Because that is basicly all I own.

Here in the Memphis, TN to my knowlegdge nobody has one. I try to stay away from planes, that I haven't seen fly, or haven't flown them.

Default Wind

"15mph it hard to enjoy flying a 4lb profile"

15 mph is just the beginning! Our Club uses a wind sock that reads up to 30 mph. I fly on days where, in betewwn flights, I have to keep going over to it to stand it back up. I love snap rolls flying backwards. I love landing with no forward movment. And talk about a wall! Do a wall from full power into a 20 to 30 mph headwind. Don't blink or it's over!

Mind you there ain't too much hoverin' on tha deck!

Up here if you don't love the wind, you won't get too many flyable weekends. I've seen trainers just sitting on the runway just lift up in the wind. Although I do not remember too many of them coming back down on their wheels????

I don't mind flying a 4lb profile in 15 mph, it just that it blows it all over the place.

I did have a H9 Super stick arf that I flew during the winter when the wind was blowing around 20mph.
