I just ordered a Funtana X100 and am starting to piece together the parts to make it fly. Has anyone used the Saito 100 in this plane (to keep within my budget), or should I get the 125 to make sure to have enough power? How about a 2 stroker (much cheaper)? With a big enough prop, will the 2 stroke work well? Is the only downfall the large oil mess I have to clean up after running it?
I am also building a new radio setup on a budget. I will be using the Jrxp6102 radio with a R600 receiver. Is it ok to use Hitec servos with the Jr radio and receiver (since Hitec servos seem to be a little cheaper)? I am also wondering if you can mix and match digital and standard servos on the same receiver as well? I have never really messed around with mixing and matching components, but it looks like many other people are having success doing it.
Thanks for any advice you have!

If you are looking to save some $$$ then you should look at the ST2300. It does take a bit of fuel run through it before it runs right. FYI this is what I have in mine and I love it.
Which servos where you looking at?

I was looking at the Hitec 635S and was thinking of using them all around, with the exception of a standard servo on the throttle. Do you think these are adequate without breaking the bank? Any other suggestions?

What prop are you using with the ST2300? I notice that it suggests an 18x8 or 18x10. Is there enough clearance with that prop. How does it fit in the cowl? This engine is really affordable.

back in the day i had the st 2300 in my funtana. I used a 17x4w apc. power was insane. had to use the perry pump and carb to get good transition and reliablility for 3d.

saito 180 with out a doubt would be great! same case size as the 1.50 but lots more power, you will have to do a little work on the firewall possible but it would be worth it. the super tigers are junk for 3d as far as im concerned, not very reliable engines. and of course a ys 1.40 would be crazy in it too.

I am currently using a Zinger 18x6 but will be trying a APC 18x6W. The motor runs better (mid range) with a load on it.
Here are some pics.
As far as the servos you mentioned I have never used those. I did a quick search and those seem to have a lot of complaints about the gears breaking.
I am using Futaba 3010's all around (except for throttle).
