Hi, I was just wondering if someone could point me to a good plane for 3D. I have a twist and I would like something better. I was looking at Aero-works extra 540T or a couple of fliton kits (edge 540, extra 330s). I also, seen the funtannas and the u can do it. Also, the showtime 4D from hanger 9. I would like to go with a 100 saito. Could someone point me in the right direction or have another plane I should look at. I would like to have gone into a gasser but its more than I want to spend right now. I also read a bit on the fliton kits aren't the best for building quality. Any input would be great. Thanks

An excellent choice is right there in Canada. www.maxairrc.com Great flying plane but needs a bigger engine than Saito 100. Saito 125 or YS 110 or Saito 150 etc. OS 120 2 stroke is ok also. Others...
OMP Fusion, but it's a profile. It may fly with the Saito 100.
Sig Mayhem 3D is a great plane. If you build it light you can get by with the Saito 100.
Good luck

I'm really thinking of going with the maxair. Did some reading and the price is awesome. Would buy the ys 110. Have you flown it?

I have the maxair velox revolution and it is awesome!
it's my favorite plane, and I have flown all the common 3-d planes( X100,showtime,mayhem,fliton extra, edge.inspire) those fliton planes are wicked too, especially the inspire, but they are very slippery and fall out alot. the velox is very stable and predictable I have advanced quite abit since I got it. hope this helps.

Yes...I have flown it. Many times. I love the plane. Best way to describe it is to say it flys like a 50cc plane. I have the mighty 110 on mine. Best KE of any plane this size. Easy to hover and great waterfalls. I does a very decent flat spin. Nice overall flying plane. Great for 3D and IMAC stuff. Thanks

If you really want to use that motor you could put it on a U-Can Do 60, Should be a good combo, and the UCD's are good planes. It might also be a good engine for the fliton inspire but as I've never flown one you might want to ask somebody that has one

I have a seagull edge with a saito 100 and the plane flies awesome with plenty of authority. Its not expensive and the replacement parts are cheap. I have read that the first edges by seagulls were not to good but he latest versions are great.I think its put together better that the Funtana 90 or 100 Hope that helps. PS Horizon is the distributor

I bought the Maxair, should be here in 5 days. I'm going to buy the ys 110 for it. Any info on what servos to put in it? Thanks

If you do not mind something smaller the Fliton Extra 330 on the SA100 is totally awesome. Just go to the website to see the way she flies on EP and imagine more power than that (with the SA100).

TravisP32...I think you'll like the Velox.
My servos are:
Rudder HS5945
Elevators (2) HS5945
Ailerons (2) HS5625
Throttle HS85MG
This is more than enough servos but I sure like the extra power. As a minimum I'd go:
Rudder HS5645
Elevators HS645
Ailerons HS645
Thanks

Check the blind nuts on the wings where the wing attachment bolts go..both are weakly glued...Also the flyer at our field
checked the incidence and found 1 wing off..and the anti-rotation pins fairly weak..something you might consider upgrading in strength. The top of the cowling tends to bend and eventually will show minute cracks..on top..i think because the thickness of the cowling is thinner in that area..maybe some fiberglass reinforcement may help cracks from appearing over time.
The plane is a fantastic arf..with great colors and build...and with the YS has plenty of reserve power..you will love this plane.

p.s. I hate the UCD..i can name gobs of thing wrong with that arf..but, please don't get me started!
