Hey guys,
I need some info regarding this plane. I did many searches on this plane here to get more info, but could not find any. So I figured that there could be 2 reasons. One, this plane is not a good to mentioned or it is not sold in the US market. So I decided to start a new thread in search for answers.
Hmmm, well here are the specs.
EDGE 540
Wingspan : 197cm - 77.5in
Wing area : 66dm2 - 1023sq.in
Length : 179cm - 71in
Weight : 4.8-5.8kg - 10.6-13lbs
Engine : 1.20-1.60cu.in 2-stroke
1.80cu.in 4-stroke
Radio : 6 channels with 8 digital servos-6.5kg/cm

I'm thinking of using a OS160fx.
Hope to get some info.

Or if somone could advice me by looking at the spec of the plane above, if the OS160FX would be a good combination or not. I hope that the 160 would be powerfull enough to hover this plane. Or should I look for a smaller size plane for this engine?

Hi guys, I,m curious as to were you got the initial info from. This looks like an awesome airframe for a OS 160, Saito 180 or even a YS 160.
I,m going to Toledo later in the week and will inquire with the Horizon guys there.
thx Dave

I have just got this model and am in the planning for the build, dry out of the box with no pants as i will be trying to shed some weight on this was 5.6lbs, and run it with a dle 35ra, will be gluing the tail permanent on this and running a 16 oz tank low in the frame just in front of the wing tube, servo for throttle up front to try and balance without weight's. is there any suggested servo's for this as it is single servo in each wing and only one for the rudder? elevators im not to worried on as they each have one and there size isn't that huge. any other suggested changes to this plane would be great full, i will be epoxying all weak looking joint,s and adding a few light braces in key places

I have the smaller version of this plane, .46-.60 size. My impression from what I have read is that seagull make a good solid plane... like overweight and not really suited for 3D. Yet I've heard that mine can hover with a Saito .82.
I'm not experience enough to know if I can over power this plane to the point that it can do what I want. I'm temped to try it anyway. It seems like every time I try to buck the common knowledge, I end up wishing I had taken the money I wasted and bought the plane I really wanted.
