well i maidened my ultimate 120 today. it wasnt the best flight i have ever had, it wouldnt trim for anything. it was eithet going up or down no mid ground. and it would be nose heavy once sec then tail the next. seems like it would puch the tail over when i would pull back or foward. move down even a tinny bit and its going str8 down. in the end i got it down in one peace but i decided not to risk taking it back up till i figured it out. any ideas? nothing is moving in the fuse
thanks

Try moving the CG up a little. It sound a lot like my first flight. I had the battery on the tray behind the canopy. I moved it to the place in front of the fuel tank. This helped a ton. I also ran a string through the center ply rib on top of the cabanes right at the cg point. After I put the wings back on I could pick the plane up by the string to check the CG.

It sounds slightly familiar. I had an early seagull Harrier 90 and put a Saito 90 in it. Just bizzare flight charactaristics. Wierdest was trying to land the thing. Pull the power back and it jumped 15 ft higher into the air! I finally gave up on it not wanting to kill such a pretty plane. I sold it to a returning competative pattern flier. He also found it challenging. Then after a flight he picked it up by the prop and the motor moved. Everything was tight. 20 minutes later it didn't move. He started it and ran a tank. Picked it up by the prop and the motor moved. The motor mount became soft with the heat of the motor! He switched to an aluminum mount and was eventually able to tame the beast. I have flown it since and the major problems are gone. Lots of mixes required to make it fly well and its still a long way from flying well. Not all that great for 3D, especially when compared to profiles. I did a Harrier 46 with two stroke power (st .60 then OS .46 AX) and no issue. Plane doesn't 3D with junk with either power plant. Just too many mixes to do to get a neutral flying plane to make it worth it. Its gonna go away too. I'll stick with the profiles and bigger electrics for 3D. Anyway, check the mounts under heat.

i happen to have the harrier 90 aswell and it does 3d great. hovers are nice and smooth and knife edges oh boy are they pretty. whats even better? harriers! and landing it has been a joy for me but i got it slightly tail heavy so it comes in slow and glides in at a harier.
bought a cg machine and ballnced the bipe hope ti fly it agian tomarrow. hope it goes better. if not i might just pull my motor out and order a funtana 90 (yellow version) i miss mine! so if you see a bipe for sale you know its from me : ]

If the plane is upright and you use the bottom wing. It will be very difficult to get a good balance. The plane will not site on the machine like that even if the CG is right on. That's why I did mine like I said earlier. In case you did not read it. I put a small hole in the ply center rib of the top wing. This is the part that stays attached to the cabanes. I mesured this hole from the leading edge of the same rib and made the hole at the back of the CG range. I then ran a string through the hole and put the plane completely together. Leaving the string loop sticking out of the top of the top wing. Then I could pick the plane up by the string. If it sets level or a little nose down you will be OK. If it sits tail down even a little you are behind the range.
Be sure and post how your maiden turned out.

well i stole your idea about the string. i was close but not close enough to ballenced. now its perfect, i went flying today and before i got to maiden it the prop and nosecone came off and shot into the ground and it snapped my prop (only one i had that day) so i didnt get to fly all day. was a perfect day to man! oh well always next weekend or wed.
