Im looking for my next plane, and my first gasser, I want it to be powered by a DA 50, what do you guys think between these two planes, DPM Edge 540T and CA Models Extra 27%, anything else that can compete with these 2 airplanes in the sub-$500 range?

Both of these are good models. I just aquired a CA Extra 27%. This is one nice kit. The wing tubes were not installed before they sheeted the wing which is the only complaint so far. This would be the better plane for sequences.
DP is an ARF however.
Engine choice of a DA-50 should be perfect in either case.

i've been following a bunch of threads on the ca models extra on this forum and others, everyone seems to like them, the extra seems to be lighter and have more wing area..
as far as the foam wings on the extra, do you mean that the hole in the wing is not cut out for you already?

He ment that the hole is cut, but the socket isn't in it.
I am going to get a 34% CA Extra. I have hear of some guys selling their Carden Edges after flying the 38%!
Looking into DP's past.. I don't know about them..

If the DP Edge is built anything like their Extra then you got my vote for the CA Extra. The DP models are supposed to be built extremely light but my CA Extra will be 2+ lbs lighter with the same engine.
Don't get me wrong the DP Models are great airplanes, I just feel the CA Extra will be better.
Here is a picture of my CA Extra so far...

Im with you on the CA Wreck. My Extra flew great, but I think the CA is gonna be better. As for a DA 50 on the DP, i think thats too much. It would be good on the CA though.
