Default I can't belive it !!!

Nobody has said any thing about this little gem. I don't know if it's new or old but, Man what a sweet heart!

Kyosho Suk-31 .40

I saw it at the hobby shop a couple of days ago and had to look inside the box. Get it over to the counter and open it up. Nice cover job! Not a lot of wrinkles and looks like iron on film. Pull the wings out and the ail is almost 2 inch's. Sweet ! Pull the elevator out and OH MY! It's the same size as my Omp 540 profile. With counter balance's no less. This thing should waterfall no problem. Pull the rudder out, well......it's a little on the small side. Next come's the fuse. Man this thing has to be about 7 inch's around. Tons of side area. I had to have it!

I get it home and start putting it together. All wood construction and pretty good glue in the joints too. There's plenty of room in the fuse for radio and to put the tank on the cg.

I am still not done but it's pretty close now. What do you think?

Oh ya......Satio 72 in the nose and 3004 servo's with 5 cell 1100mah pack.

Sounds just like the Kyosho Cap 232 I had...

They are GREAT ARF's. My Cap was just over 5 lbs with a Pro .46...They are built very well, but still very light. Everything is good except for the hardware. The supplied pushrod system is a joke...

Besides that, it's a great airplane. My Cap would show it's belly on approach and not even think about tip-stalling. It would do awesome snap rolls, easy KE, great loops, rolls, slow rolls, point rolls, and all that.

At the time I was not really into 3D, but I remember it needed A LOT of up elevator to hold it in a hover. The instructions recommended 2 degrees of up thrust in the engine, but I never did it. That would explain it...

The Sukhoi should be great...

I never found any weak spots in the construction or any surprises while flying. After all the stories I had heard about Caps, this sure set me straight!

The Kyosho Sukhoi has been around a while. I saw one first at our field, around 18 month or more ago on our field. Seemed to be a neat little flyer, but the guy who owned it doesn't fly 3D. He eventually snapped it into the ground. He says it was pretty squirrelly.
I am pretty sure you are a better Pilot then him, so let us know about your experience with it, and if she will 3D. Will you increase the rudder ?

If your wanting 3D power use a saito 91 in place of the 72. You will need the nose weight anyway. Stick to the low rates on the elev and use a couple clicks of throttle to land. I've had two of these and neither was squirrelly, both used 91's

I had one of these ARF's, the Sukhoi.

It flew very nicely unfortunately I never got to wring it out......... fuel on batteries tend to do that........

Thanks for the info guy's ! I read inn the direction's that the cg inn the manual is wrong and give's another cg. That might be why it was squrliy.

No i am not moding this plane. I like it just the way it is. I do love the way its built. And yes the hardware is a joke!

Not sure about needing more weight up front. I just got the radio in and checked balance. Tank on cg and using stock hardware the cg landed about 1/8 inch behind the starting cg! It is a little on the heavy side at 5lb 12oz.

Just need to clean the wiring up and the wait for good weather. Its supposta be crapy this week end.

I just got back from the field. Ummmmm...................

aaaahhhhhhhhh..........................

It was REAL windy(20 to 30 mph) so its a little hard to judge what it doing but.............

Got a few tork rolls out of it. There real fast though. Elevators was pretty solid, only got one. It did harrier!!!!!!!! I dont think there will be a problem doing a elevator, harrier acrossed the feild and tork roll right in front of you!!!!!!! The rudder authority is SILLY!!!!!! All most too much!!!!!

I will get some more time on a calmer day and give a full report.
