Well, I've decided to "poll the mob." I've got a 60 size U Can Do that I'm going to sell to a friend and am trying to decide what plane to get next to put the Saito 125 that's on it. Any suggestions? I like to fly 3D / fun fly stuff. [8D]

Showtime 90. Balanced plane that does most everything. Flys inverted and knife edge almost hands off. Good plane to sharpen your aerobatics and will hover, and spin pretty well. There are better 3D planes and better IMAC planes, but the Showtime blends both well.

OMP 65" yak. I flew one with a saito 125. Weighed in at 7lb 8oz. Was running rich on 15% fuel and still had foamy like power. The planes does not have a bad tendency to speak of. I have flown probably 15-20 3d planes and this one was by far the best and easiest to fly 3d with.

The Showtime and the OMP Yak have both come to mind. I still am thinking about the Showtime but have to wonder what people have said about it "snapping." I also really like the Yak but the sticker price is stopping me at this point. [X(]

After having the following planes: Show time .90, EF 68" Yak, U Can Do .46, 3 .60 U can Do, X100, Velox 68", Fusion .90 ARF, the best 2 are : #1 Fusion, #2 Velox. If you cannot stand a "plank" for a fuse, than get the Velox while they last. If you can figure out how to get the Velox under 9 lbs, it would be even better.( CF gear, mousse can muffler, lighter battery & servos, CF push rods). The Fusion does the most with minimal setup, the Velox might require more setup tweeking. The Velox does beautiful KE & rolling harriers, a little hard to hover. The Fusion hovers so easy , slow HA KE the best, I mean S L O W W, it just hangs there in any kind of head wind. Even though the Fusion is way lighter, it doesnt seem to get knocked out of hovers like other full fuse planes do. I'm keeping my Do & Velox, but when they "expire", it will be the Fusion & 50cc planes for me, the Double Vision & TOC Yak, its true, bigger heavier planes do fly better.

The Mayhem is a great plane, the post is about a second 3-D plane after the Do,so the Fusion and/or Velox would be a step up IMO. As for the TOC Yak, I dont really know yet, its on the work bench now, maybe in 2 weeks I'll know more. I have watched a friend fly his TOC Yaks & Extra,35-40% though the same company, they make 3-D look easy, rock steady, if the 50cc is even close to that performance, I'll be happy. A good 3-D flying 50cc is much more enjoyable than a good .90-1.20 size.

I'm still looking and thinking about which way to go. I thought about a Fusion but a friend of mine had one and it didn't hold up well. I wonder how others are holding up? Anyone have any experience with the Katana 70 V2?

Have you considered the Frenzy very good flying plane. Hovers well and does all the 3D stuff. Light wing loading, floats in on landings with any wind. Flys pretty good in windy cond. The 125 will let you go vertical until you can't see it. I have one and it is the best plane i have ever had. The friends that have taken the controls a time or two and have the planes that are described above think it flys way better. Light plane also. I also have the 125 Saito on mine and it is just unbelievable. Only plane i have had this long and not have an incident of somekind with. Over 60 flights on mine and when weather was good was flying it daily. Now just weekends if weather is descent. Supposed to be 5mph wind and 70deg. here this weekend. So will probabaly add 5-6 flights to it. The color looks good after you get it built and all the stickers on. Easy build also. 189.00 i think it was.
