Model Tech Magic 3D & a Tower Hobbies .46 ABC 1.75HP.
What do ya think?
How well does this plane hover?
What prop should I start with?
Is there anything special I need to do to this plane before I try and hover it. I've never hovered before except on G2, But I'm very good at it on G2. *L*

Bryan

set it up as per instructions then you will be fine...But dont go into this manuver to low start of high and slowly bring it down....
Its differant than g2 real flight because on g2 real flight it torque rolls but when your doing it for real your holding ailerons in as well to stop it torque round

Do you think a 10x10 apc would work. It seems like most people are using low pitch props but in realflight it seems to have better control with a higher pitch prop. More air over the tail.

no, for hovering you need as big a diameter as possible, whilst keeping the revs high enough, yet not so high that its just delivering fast air and little prop wash.

Bryan;
I have the Magic with an OS 46fx. I use the APC 12.25 x 3.75 prop on it with 15% nitro. This is the only prop to use. I balanced the kit 4 and 1/2 inches back from the LE. the plane will hover and torkroll at 1/4 throttle. I am just starting to hover so I keep it high. the only thing I noticed is there is a real fine line between hovering and pulling up vertical with the engine. A little over 1/4 throttle the plane starts to pull out. Not a big problem. I really love this plane. where else can you get a $99.00 ARF that really flys???
Good luck,
Tony

I used the os 46 fx with a 12.25 by 3.75 but it was a little for response so I am going to try the 11.5 by4 I herd the combination is great.
