Do you think a 10x10 apc would work. It seems like most people are using low pitch props but in realflight it seems to have better control with a higher pitch prop. More air over the tail.

Lower pitched props have better vertical performance. I'd try something with a 4 or 5 pitch. 10x10 just doesn't sound right. Too much pitch for hovering.
