Default H9 Edge or DP Ultimate?

I think I have my next plane narrowed down to the H9 Edge probably with a Saito 180, or the Dave Patrick Ultimate with same engine. I am still learning 3D, so not too good at it yet, but I love both of these planes. Before everyone says to go with a O.S. 160FX, I have to say I am partial to 4-strokes. Have several Saitos, and love them, run all of them on 30%, never any problems and run like a dream. Fuel consumption isn't a problem as I get fuel for free (sorry guys) and can use as much as I want. I know YS engines are great, but little hard to justify the cost over a Saito. I know this is probably opening up a can of worms, but I would like to know what some opinions are concerning these two aircraft. Thanks.

Russ

Default hmm..... edge or ultimate?

personaly i would take the h9 edge because i like looks of the edge and their overall flight characteristics, dont let this discourage you from geting a dp ultimate though, i saw one fly the other week and it looked as if it were on rails, this guy had a saito in his, dont know which one though, but as i said i would personally take an edge.
Happy flying, Stikman

I can vouch for the H9 edge. It is a great flying plane and will do anything you want to do with the saito 180.

I had a RCS 140 gas engine in mine, it was very good but not unlimited. I sold it to a fellow club member and He has a Saito 180 on it, a great combo.

Default H9 Edge or DP Ultimate?

i have owned 2 of the h-9 edges and 1 dp bipe. 3d flying the dp beats the edge imac flying the dp beat the edge.

edge one had a zdz 40 the other satio 180
dp bipe has had satio 180, rcs 1.4 gasser, os 160 at present.

dp is set up bolt you stuff up and go. the h-9 is a little more work with the above statement.

my pic to the left shows i am an edge man 282 flights on my aw edge but the dp bipe beats hands down the h-9 edge......

Go with the DP Ultimate hands down. I do own the H9 Edge but the DP Ultimate is far more stable in harrier and elevator than the H9 edge. Before you go buy the Satio 180 give the new YS 1.40 Sport a look. Its price is pretty compareable to the Satio 180. Either of these engines will be more than enough power for this plane doing 3D or IMAC. The YS would be alittle more consistance due to the pressure system though.

Russ, aside from the actual 3D flying ability discussion I say go with the Ultimate. Why - the "This is just plan awesome factor" of the Bipe. I have a H9 Cap232 with the Saito 180 and a Goldberg Ultimate. I have hardly flown the Cap since I got the Ultimate. It is just a blast to fly and people love watching it. The only other factor here is the time factor. You have to put together and take apart you bipe and this takes three times as long as a single wing.
