I'm in the process of finalising the build of my Freestyle..
The Balancing point is going to be at the rear end of the reccomended, which is 4 1/4" back from the LE...
I don't want to add lead weight if I don't have to..
Where is the CoG on your Freestyle?
Any other tips would be appreciated
Cheers
Vince

RIght now mine is set 4.5" back from LE, but I plan to move it back more.
Check out the product review (click on "View all Product Reviews and Articles" from the main page). Look for the Global Freestyle review by RCAddiction. Its very good. It will answer all your questions and then some.
You will like this plane. It is incredible smooth, especially for a 40 sized plane. Enjoy...

i havea 6v (but very light AAF cells) 100mah battery tied to the wood just under the firewall. I havent played about with c/g at all, and dont plan to. I think it's right where it is, which i'll measure when i fly it today, however if you're flying them a lot further back ill give that a go!

I have moved my CG all over on my Global Freestyle. I move it forward for more of a pattern feeling plane and move it way aft for 3D stuff. I don't know the exact measurement of the most aft point I have had it, but I do know I added a couple of ounces to the tail after it was balanced at the aft range of the manual. I had it so tail heavy, I had to add a bunch of down elevator to fly straight and level, and it would hover using throttle and rudder only. I would set it per the manual for the first couple of flights and then start adding weight a little at a time. Good Luck

Well it's flown..
Took it to field today, ran 3 tank fulls through the new ASP 52S.
It was a bit too windy really but I thought what the hell, no better way to test a new model and a new engine.
COG was set @ 4 1/4" back. Take off uneventfull and short, 2 clicks down elevator, 1 click right aileron and it's trimmed.
I just did a few gentle circuits, a couple of rolls a few loops and a little inverted. I did not push it much further as the wind was gusting badly but early signs are showing the is going to be a great little flyer. Going to try again midweek and start pushing it through it's paces so will report back then, can't wait..
Why is it when there are only 2 people at the field as there was today (myself and a heli pilot) we are both on the same frequency? Murphys Law I Guess? Lucky I had a sackful of crystals with me
