Ok, bme 50, prozinger 22/8, 7200 rpm, guessing 25+lbs thrust at sea level. Plane is a portly cap, 18lbs dry...
Great power, but not unlimited, dies out about 1000ft up...
Does the lower air density, at 1000ft up, really cause the lack of verticle. I would think 7-8lbs thrust over weight (25-18=) would be more than adequate...
Thoughts?

It should be enough to keep going, but it may not necessarily keep the same speed as when you are entering the maneuver. The plane should slow down to the point where drag equals whatever excess thrust you have, then it should keep going at that speed.

Do a search on the pro zinger's, a lot of guys don't like them on the bigger aerobats. I would try a 3W 22-10. I feel the 3W, menz type props take a better bite of air.
