Sorry Tim...I only left him with (1), and that was a couple days ago. So I don't think it will be around anymore.
I originally placed my order through Razor Motors for the 350's (since nobody had any in stock), but when I was placing my order at Park Flyer Motors, I mentioned this, and Bill told me that he just got (3) in stock! Even Matthew at Razor Motors sounded surprised when I called to cancel my order there, and told him that Bill had some in stock!
Our club is having an All-E-Day this Saturday...Now that I got all my equipment...I got to get working on that 3dx!
Thanks again Tim!

Sounds Great! Make sure you let everyone know where they can get thier own set of plans! After you get all the guys in your club hooked on the 3DX and Ultimate, I want to see a group hovering pic, LOL!

Just finished flying my 3DX with the Razor350 on it. Huge difference in performance not to mention the battery lasts ALOT longer. It easily blasts out of a torque roll now. I went from an AUW of 13oz to 12.2 oz also. I'm still using a 8cell 800mah nimh pack.
My only complaint with the design is that it rolls kinda slow. Maybe it just needs larger ailerons. Something to try on the next one.

Unless if you are using two HS-55 or other high(er) torque servos on the ailerons, I don't think it could handle much more surface. Also, you guys have probably retimed the crap out of the 300C's, and I got a problem. The endplate just won't move. I pried all the little tabs up, but she just won't budge. Anyone have any idea how to get it to turn (I think I read that they sometimes put glue on it, how would I clear the glue out?) Thanks,
Dan

my engine was hard to rotate too...i used a pair of tweasers and slipped it in the 2 slots near the center..it made it easier to twist....turned it like a key..

I bought a super cheap set of Chinese plyers that had a really skinny set of needle nose in the set. These worked perfectly. BTW, the 15% extra thrust really isn't all that much. SkyPro, you can HAVE my timed motor if ya want it LOL.
I got 10 full minutes out of my 8c800mah nimh. The thing that amazed me was when the BEC finally kicked in and killed the motor it was about equal to a full charge using the brushed motor that came with the GWS gearbox.
Now that I'm HOOKED on these things my last step is the Li-Poly's. THO, I'd rather be able to use Li-Ions so I could use my charger that I use on my 40% planes.
Has ANYONE tried Li-Ions on these things?

Just a follow up. Not much as been mentioned about the pinion gear going onto the RZ350. I bought the 10T one recommended only ruining it heating up thinking I could slide it on hot. The brass got too hot and deformed ruining it.
In desparation, I 'pryed' off the pinion from the cheasy brushed motor with two screwdrivers and went to fit it onto the RZ350 only to find it slid on perfectly. Now I was out of luck until perusing RCUniverse and finding that a certain LocTite would bond the pinion to the shaft. Only problem was no one had the stuff.
I did find what worked at Napa Auto Parts. It's a Permatex Sleeve/Cylinder bonding stuff. Cost me 8 bux but it worked perfectly. In fact, as I was sliding the pinion on the shaft I could feel it locking the gear to the shaft. Must be liquid weld because I gave it the 24 hrs drying time and it works perfectly.

Well, here we are after getting the Razor installed and now upgrading to the Etec polys. A bit more than I expected. I fly 40% Imac planes and this thing makes em look like wimps on vertical pull. I truly believe I can now break this little plane. Also, torque rolling is harder due to the more sensitive throttle power. I actually need a throttle curve just like my 40% Extra.
My question is....I notice the Razor RZ350 is getting MUCH hotter than before. Something to worry about? Normal? Or is the heat only going to destroy this jewel of a motor?

If you are worried about the motor, go down in prop size. You might as well, since it sounds like you have more power than you really need, anyways. Also, in the AZ heat, it is important to land every few minutes to let the motor cool down. I also let it sit in between flights to let it cool completely. I may just be paranoid, but I would be so mad at myself if I burnt up my Hacker because of something that could have been avoided. Good luck, and have fun!

Wattage markets some of these. Check your local hobby shop to see if they can special order them. As a charger goes, what charger do you have now? If you don't have one, then there is a sea of choices out there. The question to ask yourself is- how far do I want to go in electrics? If you ever want to get LiPos, the Triton is the way to go. If you just want a cheap charger for NiMhs and NiCds, then Dymond has a good line.

Am I the only one eating up these 66 tooth spur gears? The Razor RZ350 seems to be too much power for the plastic gear. Anyone make an aluminum spur gear?

Sounds like your gear mesh may be off. See if www.b-p-p.com can hook you up with a Razor adapter.

They have GWS ICS-300E Speed Controller 8-Amp w/No Brake for $18.95 (http://www.balsapr.com/catalog/speed...ductId=T576434
and whole bunch of motors/EPS systems size 300 for very nice price: (http://www.balsapr.com/catalog/motors/EPS300C.asp )
I buy stuff from them from time to time and never have a problem. They ship fast, and cheap.

www.Castlecreations.com has great speed controls, but I am not sure if they have any EPS packages. As for the EPS, www.MountainModels.com has them.

I don't know if he still has anymore in stock, but I picked up the 350C at www.ParkFlyerMotors.com for the same (or less) money than most people sell the 300C for...I also picked up my Pixie 20 there, too! If you don't see a combo that you are looking for, just drop him an email. He usually emailed back very quickly to all my inquiries, and was able to put together some real good deals for me...although I also bought a bunch of struff from him, too!
I was wondering the same thing about the KAN cells, but everyone told me that they were to heavy for these planes. It's a shame, too...because you can pick them up pretty cheap these days!

No way are they too heavy! I have three packs I use on my Tribute, and it flies just fine! I haven't ever tried them on a brushed motor power 3DX or anything, but it powers around my 11 ounce AUW-battery just fine, with plenty of vertical. I suggest picking at least one of these packs up, they have great power, and hold that power for a long time as well.

Kokam battery!!
Hey, I just picked up a Kokam 1020Mah 3 cell pack (10.8v) that I'm going to use it on my Tribute..... what charger sound I get for poli batteries? I really don't want to spend 130.00 on a Triton but I'll spend somewhere around 75.00.... what have you used? I'm real excited about flying the tribute but need a good power supply.. (300C motor.... CC 20P ESC is what I've got) Is this battery/motor/ESC combo going to be enough for crazy 3D?
Thanks,
Craig Rideout

Well I am no battery pro, but I am not so sure a 3 cell Kokam 1020 is what you want. It is a very low discharge cell, so flying at full throttle may or may not damage the cell, and may or may not give good performance. Although this site is very good, for more experienced hardcore electric guys, go to www.RCGroups.com . However, the motor and ESC should be plenty for 3D. A better battery (say that ten times fast ) would be a 3s E-tec 1200. For your combo, if you are using the "D" gearing, I suggest an 11x6 or 12x4.7 to keep the amps down, and choose whichever gives you better performance. Remember- if something doesn't fly good, don't give up! There are tons of cheap combos out there, that will probably just be drop in replacements. Enjoy your shiny new airplane!
