Plane for a Brison 2.4 ??
#1
I'm looking for a good plane for a Brison 2.4. It was on a CMP Extra 300 but the Extra has seen better days. looking for people that have similar or the same engine and what type of plane they have it on. Looking in the area of a Yak , Edge , Extra , not very particular.

any of the Great Planes 27% planes. yak, extra330, cap, edge and the suk. also aeroworks makes 2 35cc planes extra 260 and a extra 300. horizon has the 260 also. just off the top of my head. I have the GP cap and the 2.4 pulls very well in it with a mej 20x8.

I was looking at the GP but was not sure if my engine was to small. I'll look at Aeroworks , Horizon , and Wildhair.
I like the engine , I actually bought the engine/plane assembly for pretty cheap so the plane was not a loss. I was pulling out of a steep dive and the right aileron servo failed and everytime I tried to get it straight to pull up it rolled right. The plane was is repairable , but its not the best flying plane to start with so I'm not sure its worth the effort.

Others have mounted the 2.4 in WHs baby edge but IMO its waay too much overkill. the plane is designed around a 1.20 glow. It only has 960 sq inches on the wings. the others I mentioned average 1100- 1200 cubes. you need surface area when going gas. their heavier. I would go glow on the baby edge. probably os 160. for great power. the Brison does well up to 14lbs.

I had a Brison 2.4 in a EF Giles, 74" wing if I remember right. It was around 12 lbs, a pretty good combo, it was always slobbering rich at the low end until I replaced the diaphram w/ that blue material and replaced the stock muffler. I think OMP carries the Giles too.
