Default Fliton Edge 540 Recommended Engine size??

Just got a Fliton Edge 540, and was wondering what the best engine to get was. I have looked through the pages of forums and think a saito 100 (or maybe even a os 91 fx!) ?? I have the Fliton extra with a saito 82 loads of power but just want a tad more with the new edge!! without the extra weight penalty!!

Thanks

Rob

Boy do I miss my Fliton Edge. I got six flights on it before I destroyed it. I didn't have my battery secured well, and after a pretty violent snap-roll it released from the switch. That means a 75% throttle dive from well over 600ft into about 3 inches of dirt. It hit so hard I spent nearly $200 fixing the engine. One servo was salvageable. I've got an Aeroworks Extra 260 .60-.90 to replace it...but I don't know which one I like better. I haven't flown this one yet. Regardless, the airfoiled tail on the Flitons is amazing to me! It's the only thing I really like better, without any doubt, about the Fliton. Everything else I'm back and forth on.

Anyway, I used a Saito 100. It balanced well (would've balanced better with elevator servos in the tail) with it, had great power, and never missed a beat. This plane seems to be designed around a Saito 100. You're going to love it with that engine.

Just curious, which plane do you like better so far? I'll have to keep up with this thread and ask you which one you like better once you fly the Edge.

With a Saito 100, what was the vertical performance like. Im power mad and like vertical a half power!! The extra is great, but the edge looks like it has small niggles taken out from the extras design, ie the rudder servo is in the bottom of the fuss at the back and the top hatch is from the back of the cowl all the way to the back of the cockpit, which gives loads of room for messing about!! The build quality is the same if not better, i am now thinking of getting the larger extra fliton, i think its a 120 size.

What do you think to a os 91fx with a pitts silencer?? instead of the saito I will put a hitec 5245 servo on each elivator servo, this should help the C G. It was ok for the extra when i did the same. The extra had a saito 82 but i was a bit disapointed with power.
