FLEW IT FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY, AND BOY DO I LIKE IT. I HAD THE 60 SIZE BEFORE AND LIKE IT, BUT THIS ONE IS SOOOO MUCH BETTER: NO RUDDER ELEVATOR COUPLING ON KNIFE EDGES (JUST A LITTLE ALEIRON COUPLING). IT FLYS STRAIGHT AND TRUE. HANGS AND TORQUES LIKE A DREAM. ROLLS ARE CLEAN & AXIAL. FLYS EVEN LIGHTER THAN THE 60, AND WLAKS IN FOR LANDINGS. KNIFE EDGE LOOPS ARE EASY AS PIE.

I AM USING A SAITO 100, APC 15X4WIDE, MAGNUM #1`FUEL 10,750 RPM( HOT AND VERY HUMID TODAY IN ATLANTA) AFTER A GALLON OF FUEL NOT YET BROKEN IN. I FLEW AT 1/3 THROTTLE AND BLAST OUT OF HOVERS OUT OF SIGHT. IT IS GREAT HAVING THAT KIND OF POWER WITH NO WIEGHT GAIN OVER THE RECOMMENDED OS 70 ENGINE.

LOWERING THE STAB AND BIULDING IN RIGHT THRUST REALLY MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS.

THE ONLY OTHER PLANE THAT I HAVE FLOWN THAT I LIKE JUST A FRACTION BETTER IS THE EDGE PROFILE FROM EXTREME FLIGHT RC - HAVE ONE OF THOSE ON ORDER (HOPE IT ARRIVES IN LATE JULY).

Sounds awesome!!!

I questioned the same engine/plane combo. I have a saito from a crashed H9 mustang and a LHS with two UCD 46's sitting in the floor. Sounds like I should remove one for them. Thanks for the tip.
Good point on the lack of weight difference.

Where in the midwest are you located? I'll be going up to St. Louis the end of the month. I'd sure like to see one of these things..

I'm about 85 miles west of St.Louis

Earl,

Any problems balancing with the 100? Also how does it waterfall, harrier, and flatspin.

Default BALANCING

I PUT A 1650 4.6V NICKEL PACK UNDER THE TANK. IT WAS TAIL HEAVY WITH IT AT THE RECOMMENDED PLACEMENT. HARRIERS WERE GOOD WITH VERY LITTLE WING ROCK - DID NOT TRY A FLAT SPIN.

Didn't people use the Saito 100 in the bigger version? Isn't that way to much for the .46 airframe? (Note: I also like to "overpower" my models, but a Saito 100 on this thing???!)

Hmmm, I wonder how my Saito 91 would do, since it isn't being used......

Go for the 91. I put a saito 91 on a pizzaz and it was fun. I didn't think the pizzaz was very good 3-D plane anyway but with the extra power it was just fun to play arround with.

I just ordered one today. I'm going to put my Saito 91 on it. Was a little worried about engine choice until I read this thread. Thanks for the info!

I went and picked one up this afternoon. After seven hours my son and I have nothing left but mount the engine, throttle servo, cowl, and balance. Doesn't weigh much thats for sure. I'll post a weight when it gets done tomorrow.
