Can somebody explain what seperates a 3D,pattern,aerobatic plane into their classes?
Aren't they all really aerobatic? what is the difference between these 3 types of planes?
thank you

here's my take...
3D - most/all maneuvers are flown below the stall speed of the aircraft, with the engine's thrust keeping the plane up/moving forward. the control surfaces on these types of planes tend to be HUGE. usually, the elevator surface area is very big, with counterbalances. typically use a thicker wing section.
pattern - sleeker, with smaller control surfaces to fly maneuvers precisely...constantly flowing (i.e. not hanging on the prop or doing harriers).
you are starting to see a cross between these two types of planes... and something called "freestyle". I feel my G-Trick is a blend of the two types of planes.
hope that helps,
Scott
