This coming season I plan on really working hard at 3D. Ive got a profile almost ready to go. Along with that, I also have a Showtime 50 with saito 91 and a NIB Reactor. Should the Showtime not make it....It will be the components/engine donor for the Reactor.
Recently Ive been looking at alot of Funtana videos. At the moment a Funtana seems really appealing. Should I decide on a Funtana... & in order to keep the hobby budget in check, I would have to sell the Complete showtime setup and NIB reactor to pay for the Funtana and components. Thinking OS 1.20ax.
What do you guys think..... stay with Showtime & Reactor/ saito 91 combo...or jump up to Funtana/ OS 120ax combo?

There is no comparison.
The large Funtana 125 with an OS 120AX out flys the 2 smaller planes. No competition.
If you have the opportunity to get the larger Funtana, Do It.

Never flown a "larger" funtana but did have the white .40 size a few years ago with a Saito .82 on it. I can say without a doubt that it was the worst airplane I have ever laid my hands on ( and I have had a bunch!!). Hated it sooo bad I couldn't sell it fast enough[:'(] After further reading, found out I wasn't alone!!

One bad thing that no other Funtana has had is the Pre-Printed covering. Good luck making repairs look good!! It'll take a master artist months to get even the smallest of patches looking good. That was the worst decision HH has made in a LONG time!!
If I were you, looking for a good 3D plane in that price range...I'd get myself a DLE30 and strap it to an Edge. I've got one priced out at $630 plus airframe with a lipo/reg on ignition and a separate lipo/reg on rx. You can get a gasser airframe for less than a Funtana 125. The price difference between the DLE30 and the 120AX is basically 2 gallons of glow fuel.

I'll agree to that!! The fusion will fly 3D DOD or you can really practice some precision work when the mood hits. A very versatile craft for sure!

I do like the Funtana's in all sizes. But the recomended 67in Fusion would be a lot easier and more forgiving. Profiles are 3D trainers. You say you want to work on your 3D then a Profile is the way to go. The first time you fall out of a 15-20 ft hover and have time to recover from it you will understand. The Funtana would be toothpicks. But it needs to be a quality profile not a hack job. OMP/Mojo
EDIT:// Oh and the Fusion and the OS 1.20ax will be about 1/4-1/3 trottle hovers

The yak is a fine plane but it is all out 3D. The Fusion will do IMAC and 3D and sport fly. Both are profiles from OMP, but are designed to do two very different things.

I say, if you like the Funtana, get the Funtana. The larger profile would be easier to 3D with than your 40-50 size as stability comes with size. The smaller one will still be easier than a Funtana though.
